New Zealand/Fiji Honeymoon

Hi all,
We're looking to plan a honeymoon to a place we would never pick for a "normal" vacation and New Zealand looks right up our alley. We have a two weeks to get out there from Boston after our mid-June, 2013 wedding. Did anyone find a good mix of adventure/relaxation in this location? If so, please fill us in on the intenirary you put together, we're looking for any/all suggestions.

I have spent time in Fiji. I think it will probably cutting NZ short if you do anything less than 2 weeks unless you really focus on a particular island or area. Even Fiji in a week is difficult as there are so many islands to choose from! Island hopping in Fiji is one of the best things to do there as each island is so unique and different. So, unless you have one specific resort in mind and don't plan on hopping around, it is possible. Keep in mind that June is NZ winter (opposite of us), so that may alter your plans.

We spent alittle over 3 weeks in Fiji and island hopped (5 resorts total).  We thoroughly explored Viti Levu via car. Each area was different.  One side was wet and lush, the other was dry.  We also did Mana Island and Vanua Levu. We fly frm Philly to LAX to Nadi.  It took 36 hours from the time we left to the time we got to the first resort on Vanua Levu.  Def look at the whole travel time and weather for either destination.  As for relax/adventure, go to the outer islands to have the picturesque beach experience.  Zp lining, waterfalls, river tubing are on Viti Levu.  You might want to stay a night or two on V.L and then go to the outer islands.  BTW...Denaru marina has icky beaches and water. Avoid these resorts IMO.

</div><div>I totally agree with this.  We did 12 nights in Fiji on our hm and split the time between two different resorts.  We would have loved to throw NZ in there, but we didn't think we could do either place the way we wanted to without more time.

We are planning 2 weeks in Fiji and staying at 2 different resorts. We considered adding NZ but thought it would be too rushed and we didn't want to feel like we were constantly having to be on the go on our honeymoon.
