Wedding Cakes - Orlando Area

My fiance and I are having a lot of trouble finding a bakery for our wedding cake.  We used Sprinkes Cakes in Winter Park for our engagement party.  They were excellent but unfortunately for a wedding cake they are out of our price range.  I'm looking to my fellow knotties for some suggestions, pretty please! :)

Can anyone recommend any ideas for cakes and/or bakeries in the Orlando area that are reasonably priced? The maximum amount in our budget for a cake is $500 but we would prefer to spend less.  Any suggestions you all have would be greatly appreciated!

Also - what do you guys think about a cupcake tree? 3-4 tiers of pretty cupcakes frosted in our wedding colors? I am not sure I am loving this idea, but I want some input on this as well.

And btw....we are inviting 150ppl to our wedding....so we expect to have anywhere from 120-150 show up.  How do you order your cake in advance of getting a head count?

My cake vendor is in Lake County but I think she delivers to Orlando.  I can send you her number if you like.  Depending on the type of cake you want, she should be able to do it for your price.

Love the cupcake idea! I've seen photos where they have the cupcakes and then a small, round cake at the top for the couple to cut. It's the "new" thing now from what I'm seeing. I'm already married and I'm still stalking TheKnot! No idea why I didn't use this for MY wedding.

Wish I could help with some baker suggestions.

That is a great idea with the small cake to cut on top! That makes it trendy yet traditional....we can still have a topper and cut the cake. Thanks!!!

We used Party Flavors and had a great experience with them.  They were 1/2 the price of some of the other bakeries we looked at and very yummy!

I just went to a cake tasting today with Cakes by Design in Longwood.  The flavors were so good.

I have also tasted cakes by Party Flavors during an event I went to & they were really good too.

Thanks all! I decided to go with The Chefs Galley and am so happy!  The tasting was amzaing and they can do ANYTHING with cakes!  On my budget I was even able to get all the bling I wanted and LED lights to go inside the cake!!! I really recommend them.

I have tried Upper Crust Catering and Cakery and Party Flavors.  I loved both..but in the end it was my fiance's decision on the cake LOL
