Hey ya'll,   Just curious if anyone has used John Michael Catering in Orlando for their wedding. I have an appointment with them next week and was just wondering what to expect.  How is their food and prices??

I am using him for our wedding. I met with Michael and he was GREAT! Make sure you're hungy when you go for the tasting because they give you a lot of food. He was one of the 5-6 approved vendors for my venue and I went with him because his prices were great and the food was too. What i really liked was that he lets you pick and chose parts of packages that you want (which can help the price). For instance, we didn't want a champagne toast (We're getting a full bar) so he took that out and the prices went down a few bucks per person. I don't know if that is a normal practice for all caterers but I like that he did that. Have fun!

Loved them!.  They are not the cheapest caterer around but they are pretty much full service.  They include tables, chairs, linens, chair covers, etc so I did feel like I got a good deal.  Def cheaper than what I priced at hotels.  They can even set up other vendors like florist/dj/etc.  I would highly recommend.

Did anyone get their cake thru John Michaels? I am considering it, but I don't know what the price difference would be if I did it thru them or someone else....

I did....the cake was included with the catering price.  It made it easy.  And of course you can try the cakes at each of the tastings.  The cake we had when we actually went to her shop was even better though.  I can honestly say though, I do not remember what the cake tasted like at our wedding AND my dear husband left the top tear in the hotel fridge.  He also left all of the other leftover food we had AND his tux.  That is the last time I let him load a car.

I'm using Michael too and LOVE him! They're doing my linens and chair covers and such too. Lauren- I'm definetely considering getting my cake through them as well! He quoted me $3 a slice..and there wouldn't be any additional delivery fees or anythig, so I'm guessing it will be cheaper, but I haven't looked into it too far yet! I've tried the cake samples from their cake baker and they were great...but I will probably meet with Heather from It's Tasty Too as well :)

Thanks for the help. I was considering getting the cake from them because I figured the more I get from one place, the less can go wrong...so I think I will still do that. I want to go to one of the group tastings with JM to try more things, but I am always out of town when they happen.

I think I'm gonna be out of town. :( I am either gonna be in Indy or Nashville that weekend. Not sure yet. The last tasting (June 14th) I was in Nashville too. I always miss them!
