Favors

Almost everything is set for the wedding except for what the heck to do for favors! I wanted to do caramel apples since it is a fall wedding but I am still kind of on the fence about it. What are you guys having for favors? How much are you spending all together for them? How many of you are not having them at all?Any suggestions?I did buy some matchbooks off the knot but I didn't think that was enough. HELP!

I am giving yankee candle "Wedding day" candles w/Fi and I's picture on them, and M & Ms (since Fi and I are Mike and Melissa).  My SIL works for Yankee Candle and I get them at cost.  Not sure the total price, but it was pretty low, under $600.

WeI love the caramel/candy apple idea... I definitely think you should do it! If we were having a fall wedding that's what we would have done. Most people seem to prefer edible favors, I have been to weddings where they gave out trinkets and most of them were left behind when the wedding was over. We're doing iced sugar cookies, Heather at Tasty Too is making them for us and individually wrapping them. I don't remember how much they cost but I think it was around $2 per cookie.

To us, it's an unnecessary expense. I LOVE the caramel apple idea, but it seems it could get pricey. I wouldn't consider the matchbook a favor. The candle idea is great too. I really really think it's up to the couple. I really dislike the idea of a donation in lieu of favors.  It seems totally pointless and if I want to give a donation, I do it privately.  Also, I don't need someone making a donation in my name instead of giving me a favor.  I just have never understood what one has to do with the other.

We are doing the M&M thing too. We looked into putting our names on them but it ended up being more than we wanted to pay for them so we are just buying them in our wedding colors and putting them in small drawstring bags. Another idea you may like is making a music CD of songs on it that you and your FI like. A friend of mine did that and I heard comments from others who said they love listening to that cd. Both should be fairly inexpensive.

We are doing Dove chocolates in a little box with personalized messages in the wrappers www.mydovechocolate.com - they are on sale for $3.99 each I also ordered cocktail napkins and match boxes for the sparklers both are personalized. I love the carmel candy apple idea as well! I think another knottie on here did chocolate covered pretzels and I love that too. Anything edible IMO works best.

Damn I didn't even know there was a "favor" board! Ok so now it is a tie between the carmel apples or 4 different favored cookies in a box with purple ribbon. Still trying to pick between the two. My MOH is saying that the caramel apples are too messy. I will check out the favor board and see what everyone else is doing. Thanks!

I think cookies would be better....Caramel seems super messy and I think more people like cookies than caramel apples. I know Fi and mine would be left at the wedding..

I think the apples are a cute Idea, but they melt easily and can get messy. I don't really want to do favors, but if I do, it will probably be monogrammed sugar cookies. I don't want to do anything that will just be unwanted clutter for my guests.

We did beach gel candles in favor bags with a tag with on monogram on them and mix cds in cases with tags on them as well. The candles were $1 each, the cd cases were about $20, the tags were about $10, the ribbion was about $2, and the cd's...I am not sure but whatever blank cd's go for...HTH!

Ok so it has been decided! Heather from It's Tasty Too is going to make me little boxes of our favorite cookies tied with pretty purple ribbon. They are really inexpensive and I know people will enjoy them. Thanks ladies for all the good advice!
