how dare you get married during football season? ZOMG!
  • edited December 2011
Hahaha. You rock. The whole thing is ridiculous.  How dare anyone get married during: the Holidays, right before the Holidays, right after the Holidays, during the school year, over the summer, during Hurricane season, in the Winter, in the Spring...It kinda lessens my excitement when people put their shitty two cents in.

i ALMOST typed, "omg alexia, didn't you know that you are supposed to ask all of your friends which dates are most convenient for them before you set the date?" but i didn't want to cause you any problems.if you want me to, i'll go post that... ;) i don't mind a little brutal honesty now and then lol.

Hahaha.  Nope, the one chick that started the whole thing isn't invited.  She's friends with his sister!!!!

My dad collects antique cars & every year there is a National Meet in Hershey, PA on the 2nd weekend of October. BIIIIG deal if you're involved with antique cars at all. My parents went to a regional brunch & they were talking about our wedding & one of the guys gasped & said, "... you're letting your daughter get married on Hershey weekend???" lol. But thankfully he was only kidding. But my dad insists he has time to go to the meet & then drive down for our evening wedding on Sunday. I think if he tries my mom might kill him. ;)

You girls are the best! And Leah, you're totally making me feel better! The hard part is that the game is a big deal to us too.  It's the UM/UCF game.  My ENTIRE family bleeds orange and green, FI, myself, all my siblings and most of my friends went to UCF. Thus, I WANT a tv there. I'm just getting sick of comments from all sides: "Who has a shower on a Saturday?" <- someone who doesn't want to host one on a Sunday"Why didn't I get an RSVP card?" <- cause you're in the damn wedding and I was trying to save 44 cents! And let's not forget the football season comments... I'm just sick of it.  Whatever happened to: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything." There is NOTHING wrong with being quiet.

right, i remember you were devastated when the game was moved. but you made that clear and were obviously quite sensitive about it. so it's uber-tacky that they keep rubbing it in when they know you would not intentionally schedule the wedding during a big game!if you want me to, i'll sit outside the window with a walkman and posterboard and update you guys with the score every 15 mins. ;)

I'm sorry you're getting so much grief. Weddings really do seem to bring out the "special" in people. I have no idea why everyone seems to lose their damnn minds... lol. Especially when they're guests & such.Shower away at your discretion for YOUR wedding.I love college football too, but a wedding is a wedding. You'd think they'd realize that you know it's a big game. If you watch the game or not, it is NOT going to affect the outcome. (that was directed at your guests. not you. :) btw.) I'm excited for you, football or no football.

lol Grice. We can make changing signs like the "1-2-3-4 down" posts held on the sidelines. Or they can be like our SOs at Stover's wedding & watch the game via iphone during the reception. ;)

HAHAHAHA - You girls rock.I can't believe that my MOH scheduled my bachelorette party the weekend of the GTG - how inconsiderate.  Too bad - we'll just have to have another one. (PLEASE note the sarcasm!!!) Oh, and FI just informed me that our first month of marriage will be interesting.  We get back from our HM on a Saturday, that Monday they start a migration (techy computer terminology) and he'll be working the WHOLE month of November. Play time anyone?

YAY Alexia!!!!!!!!!!!!!  you are getting SO close!
  • edited December 2011
You are getting so close! Don't worry about all the crazy people who are complaining. For whatever reason...weddings make people crazy...
  • edited December 2011
You are so close!! I feel you on ppl saying stuff but sh!t happens and it isn't your fault and they just need to get over it! We had to check the national coin show list before we picked a date and the whole end of september was clear and then like 2 months later they start a new coin show in Philly right over our wedding date. So all I hear is your wedding is over the Philly show? Why did you do that... it is even worse now beacuse everyone is going on about how good the buisness is supposed to be! You just can't win them all!

don't feel bad. we picked our wedding date before the football schedule came out (we've been engaged 2 years), and just hoped there wouldn't be a big football game. Unfortunately, UM plays Virginia (at home) and FSU is playing Clemson. We have season UM tickets (as do several of the groomsmen and guests) so its unfortunate that we'll be missing that game. Our officiant goes to nearly every FSU game, so she's joked about the sacrifice she's making to be at the wedding. We were just happy it wasn't the UM/FSU game! We plan on atleast having score updates. We've thought about having a TV, but we're worried that would result in less people living it up on the dance floor :-) and FI and I would both probably be hovering around it checking the games lol
