Did you use real peonies in your bouquet?  I really want them for my wedding, but all the florists I've talked to up here say that they can't get them in FL without charging an arm and leg for shipping from somewhere further north.  Just wanted to know if they're full of crap.

Both Sarah and I used real peonies for our bouquets.  Her wedding was in April, mine in May.  Neither of us had any trouble getting them and they were more expensive than some other flowers but not ridiculous.  Not sure about March though...maybe they're completely out of season then, but I didn't think so.

Seriously, it's ticking me off.  I know peonies don't normally grow in FL because of the heat, but I'm in freakin' NFL and it's March!I'll keep checking around to florists and if I can't find them I guess I'll go with silks.

WOW, you've had more than 1 florist tell you that? Peonies are never cheap (which is why I didn't use them for centerpieces!), but they should be able to get them with no problem!

I think I'm going to contact our local garden center and see if they can get some wholesale for me and then I'll just make my own bouquet.
