corsages

So all the florists I've been meeting with seem to be charging around 25 dollars each for the corsages for his mom and my mom.  I told them that neither of them cares for flowers and to just do something small and simple but that is still the cost.  It seems really expensive to me.  I was thinking of just getting the corsages from somewhere else and picking it up the day before the wedding.  Fifty dollars on two corsages just seems ridiculous.  Especially because my mom will wear it for the pictures and then probably take it off.  Have any of you done this?  How much does a corsage normally cost?

instead of coursages we are doing a breakaway flower arrangement from my bouquet...before the ceremony I present a flower to my mom out of my bouquet and then after ceremony before walking down the aisle, I give another one to my FMIL...I don't think they really need coursages if you don't have the money...or I know Publix does coursages I don't know how much they would be...

That seems like a lot for a corsage. I'm using Jonathon's Flowers and we're getting pinned corsages with mini gerber daisies. They're $12.99 each. What kind of flowers were those florist planning on using? I would think that you should be able to get a carnation corsage cheaply if neither of the moms would care what kind of flower they have. We're using all gerbers, so thats what we went with.

They were going to use white sweetheart roses or small spray roses.  Their suggestion, not mine.

my corsages are $15.99 a piece.  they are going to be roses as well.  so $25 seems a bit high.

I also used Jonathan's flowers and spray roses in the corsages.  They were $15.99 each, so your price does seem kind of high for the same flowers.

just a funny anecdote- when i was planning the wedding, my step g'ma says to me, "oh how fun! what will your flowers look like? (and i hope you're not making us wear corsages!)." i guess she thought they were old-people looking. so instead i got the moms/g'mas mini posies to carry. this way there was nothing pinned to them or attached to their bodies and they didn't feel obligated to carry them all day/nite- it was just for the ceremony.

Country club florists in Lake Mary quoted us $13.50 for spray roses for both of the moms and $8.50 for the grandmas and officiant.  That does seem really high.

I would definitely check around..I am paying $7-15 for corsages and bouts. I recommend you talk to Debra with DSR Designs. She's super sweet and will try to stretch your dollar so you can have everything you want!

Ok, so I had to re-read what you wrote and then what my response was..So here's the deal, I am paying $7-15 for bouts & corsages. For the MOB & MOG I am paying $20/corsage. Theirs will be a bit bigger/more flowers than the others and wristlets. Sorry for the confusion :P
