How many dresses...

How many dresses did you try on before you found THE ONE? I'm incredibly indecisive and I'm just now in the "bookmarking" phase. Excited to get started trying things on! =)

I went to four boutiques before going to Priscilla of Boston, where I bought my dress (for a ridiculous deal! I'm still excited about that). I probably tried on 8 dresses at each of those places, and I only tried on one other dress at POB before finding mine. I went to another shoppe right after that just to make sure, and went back to POB and bought the dress that day (it was a sample sale, so I couldn't really go back and get it later).

I feel like I researched a zillion online (from Alfred Angelo and Maggie Sottero), but I only went to one store(Alfred Angelo in Altamonte). I tried on 4 dresses before I found mine :) It wasn't one of the styles I'd looked at online, so I was totally surprised when I fell for it. DH was with me, and it was the only one he complimented out loud. That sealed the deal for me! P.S. I know, I know...I "broke" rules by letting DH see The Dress, but I'm really non-traditional that way :)

I looked through a lot of wedding magazines before I went shopping. I only went to Priscilla of Boston and tried on 5 dresses. 3 were dresses I chose for myself. I really liked one from an ad but hated it on me. The other 2 were picks from my friend and the woman working with me. I hated those both and knew I would when I saw them on the hanger. I probably should have tried on more since I would up changing my dress with alterations, but I am overall happy. Plus it was a trunk sale so I wanted to get the deal.

I think I tried on about 10 or so as well.  I'm very indecisive as well so I didn't want to try on too many dresses and overload my brain!!  The dress I ended up getting is the very last one I tried on.

I would say around 20-25 or so.  I went to three different stores and found two favorites overall.  I came back a few days later and tried on the two again and it became a very obvious choice for me.  Good Luck!  :)

also, are you taking pics?  Cause I know that helped a lot!  being able to look back at how I looked in them I was able to nix some.

I'll def be taking pics. I haven't started really trying anything on yet because my mom lives back in my home state of West Virginia, and she really wants to be a part of the whole thing...understandably. So I'm bookmarking, getting ideas, finding what I LOVE and what I don't love so much...haha, and will be trying on my first dresses when I go visit home for the holidays! Yay!

Oh crikey - I went to 7 different shops and tried on loads in each shop.I know straight away if I like something or not so I went through A LOT. But in the UK, they won't let you take pictures which was a nightmare!! (they said "the designers don't like it" but I don't understand that logic at all!!)My initial tactic was to look on a tonne of websites and get a feel for a designer and then go to the shop which sells the designer or the dress you like. But that ended up not working at all and I ended up just going to shops and talking to the sales assistants at the shops.Good luck! I was so relieved when the process was over!!xjcx

lol you guys are going to think I am crazy....but this is just how I work.... I went to David's Bridal....and tried on 3 dresses, and the third one was the one I purchased and took home that day.... I've ALWAYS been that girl that once I find something, I am set...I normally went dress shopping for dances in less than a hour...my mom always LOVED shopping with me because I was so fast.... So in the end, we were in and out of Davids Bridal in about 2 and a half hours....I left with a dress and veil, sleeves on order, and a bridesmaid dress picked out... :-D

Maybe 20 or so.  I even tried on dresses after I had put a deposit down on my dress, just because I thought trying on dresses was fun.  I think I ended up trying 40-50 dresses.
