Make-Up Emergency

Hi Everyone!!!

I need some emergency help with make-up.  I had a girl that was going to do my hair and make-up as well as my bridesmaids.  She said her services were free for the bride if the other girls were getting them as well.

Unfortunately, I have 10 bridesmaids.  I told her this when I booked, but she said she just didn't really process what that meant.  So, now she said she can only do hair because she won't have the time for make-up.

So, she put me in touch with her friend that does make-up.. she quoted me $150 for airbrush or $100 for regular.  Is this high???  I don't know if I am just out of touch because I was thinking "free" or if this is higher than the norm.

Either way, my wedding is 1 month from today and I just don't have that much in my budget anymore.  I had planned on free and I can swing some, but I just don't think I can swing that.

Does anyone have any make-up recommendations that may be less than that cost??  Thanks for any help you all can give me!!!

My wedding is in Vegas and my hair/makeup is $160 for airbrush.  $150 for the central FL area does seem a bit much.  As far as the makeup help goes, try going to the MAC/Chanel, whatever make up brand you like, talk to a girl and see if they can come to you.  Most make up artists do have side businesses.  They might even be able to recommend someone to do your hair.  HTH!

I don't think that price is unreasonable.  You can shop around, but it seems in line.  I would suggest going to the MAC counter, but it sounds like you need everything in house.

Do you mean that you need makeup for all your BMs too?  I wouldn't require that of them (I assume they are paying) and if you get your hair free while they pay for all their styles then you should be able to justify your makeup cost, no?

I just had my make-up done last weekend for a wedding by Lejune.  It was $75 for airbrush and the lashes.  The bride was the same price (I think)  Try giving the a call.

    Thanks girls...

Let me clarify.. no, I am NOT making anyone get hair or make-up.  I told them they are all perfect the way they are.  However, 9 out of the 10 requested if my hair stylist/make-up artist would do their make-up as well.  So, no, I am not paying for it, but I also didn't ask them to do it, they came to me.

Now that the price has gone up, however, I doubt they will want to get it donw (my original girl was charging the girls $45 for hair and make-up).

Anyway, that's not really what my question was about anyway, so thanks to those that offered suggestions.  I thought it was a little high too, but even if it was standard, I hadn't budgeted for it, so I'd need to shop around for something cheaper.  I will DEFINITELY contact Lejune.  Just in case they are booked, anyone know of anybody else?

I gotcha.  I didn't mean to be snarky, just needed clarification.

I would maybe try calling a couple salons and get a backup because LeJune is super popular and may be booked.  I had my makeup done (really well) by Lauren Markow from Fringe salon (Altamonte I think) at my B-pics and she is a doll!

Try Kristy Alonzo. She did my friends makeup at her wedding and she looked gorgeous!!! She only charges $60 for the bride for makeup (airbrush too I believe) At least that is what my friend told me when she recomended me to her.

    Good luck!

I think that price seems normal. I've been calling around for my wedding and prices ranged from $50 to $150 for makeup services. I did find out that the more girls getting their makeup done the cheaper the price was. If it is just me it seems to be higher but when I add on my bridesmaids the price drops per girl to only $50. I would keep calling around.

Some took several days to respond back so that made me question if they'll even show up. The best priced one who actually responded fastest was http://stephaniejmazzeo.com and I think she covers the Orlando area. And she does airbrush too but it doesn't cost any more than regular makeup.

I haven't heard back from some others but if I do, I will post the results.
