Vendor Reviews

I found posts on this board very helpful in planning my wedding so I thought I would post some vendor reviews from my wedding on 6/9/2012

Venue - Winter Park Farmers Market: A+
We had to book it over a year in advance but it was worth it. This is a unique venue that allows you to use your own caterer and bring your own alcohol which helps keep things affordable. We originally were going to have our ceremony in an outdoor location but it poured on our wedding day. We called them an hour and a half before our ceremony and they set up all the chairs to have the ceremony on the covered patio (in addition to setting up chairs/tables for the reception). They also had a staff member there the whole time in case there were any isssues.

Caterer - Magic Occasions Catering: A
They did our catering, cake and bartending service (we provided the alcohol). The food was good, the staff was friendly and everything went smoothly.  Every one loved the bartender to kept getting people to take tequila shots. The price was by far the lowest that we found when looking for caterers. Only complaint was that they didn't have room for our alcohol on their truck so we had to drop it off at the venue on the day of (not sure what the standard procedure is for other caterers).

Officiant - I DO Weddings by Mandi: A
She had several good nonreligious ceremonies to choose from. Our guests liked the ceremony we selected. She also will do customized ceremonies.

DJ - Chuck Johnson: A
He was very professional and kept people on the dance floor even though our bar was outside and luring people away. Due to the change in ceremony location, several timing aspects of our reception ended up changing and he was very good at adapting the schedule of things to what the guests were doing.

Ceremony Music - Harpist Christine MacPhail A
We got so many compliments from our guests on her. She plays both classical and fun modern music.

Dress - David's Bridal: C
I ended up with a nice dress at a great price (black friday sale online) but when I first went to the store to try on dresses they made me give them my phone number and email which they sold to other businesses called/emailed me for the next several months. If you go here, don't give them ANY personal info.

Alterations - The Seamstress, Inc (Judi King) A
I waited until 3 weeks before my wedding to get my dress altered but it was no problem for Judi. The dress and bustle looked great.

Overall it was a wonderful day. Thank you ladies for all of your helpful posts.
