Orlando/Disney Desination Wedding - HELP!

My fiance and I were planning a Maryland wedding (where we live) but its gotten to be far too extravagant.  We have 4 girls together and thought why not elope w/ the kids at Disney.  I've looked at their site and to do a wedding @ Disney the cheapest plan is 2500$.  We don't need all of that.  Its just us and our girls.  I'll get some flowers @ a local florist and we just need an officiant.

Does anyone know if you can get married @ Disney w/out using one of their wedding packages?

If so/not do you know of somewhere near by that you could suggest?

Thanks!!

I think you can simply buy park tickets and stop where you want and have the ceremony - I have seen people do that, and I dont think there is a fee. You should check with guest services though at 407-824-2222

YOu cannot do what poultryprincess said.  If they see you or catch you doing that, they will kick you out of the park.  I'm shocked you found something for 2500.  When I went, they said the minimum was 25,000.  Even their small wedding package has a minimum expenditure of 10,000 I believe.  If it's just you and the kids, you could try to find a secluded place near a hotel or in the parks with your officiant but you'd be doing it on the down low and risk getting caught and asked to leave.  If you're set on a cheap Disney wedding, you  could try doing it instead at one of the hotels at Lake Buena Vista (non-Disney) and then vacationing in Disney afterwards.

The Escape packages for less than 25 people are about $2500. And ditto on the ceremony during the day, thats a big no-no, and I'm sure you'd be livid if you paid $200 bucks to take your family to a park and get kicked out. Try the Swan and Dolphin (they're "Epcot" resorts but not technically Disney resorts) or like they said Lake Buena Vista. Did you call? Maybe they can do a mini ceremony in a gazebo at one of the resorts? Most destination resort hotels that are not Disney (ie Mexico, Bahamas, etc) cost about $1700 so Disney  isn't that far off. I'm getting married in Disney in December but it's a big wedding so I can't tell you much in terms of small scale. You're best bet is to call and ask.

  • Anything related to Disney is going to have quite the pricetag associated with it. I've seen a few "elopment" places around the touristy areas (think artificial flowers, bright lights, reception at the Buffalo Wild Wings next door type of places), if you're cool with that. If not, drive from Orlando to a beach an hour away & host a private event there. Beautiful, small and efficient!
