Maybe a stupid question...

My dad keeps asking me when we are going to have a walk through w/ the caterer and my DOC at my venue? What exactly do you do at a walk through? How long does it take? Who do I need to have there? Are they just going to show me where everything is going to go? Because I've seen my caterer's floor plan already. How far out should you schedule one w/ the necessary vendors? I don't see anything about this on any checklist that I have about this...

I don't know about a walk through either.  But you will end up having either a phone meeting/ or in person final details meeting with most of your vendors.  You will need to have a timeline made up for them as well.  So this way everyone is on the same page.  HTH!

Our 'walkthrough' was about ten days before the wedding. We sat down with our DOC/catering coordinator (all onsite at Dubsdread) and mapped out how we wanted the room, final menu selections, and any specific instructions that we had for the day-of.
    That's Mrs.skWhitneyAmanda to you!

I think ours was about 2 weeks out.

Maybe a little longer.  I can't remember now.

We finalized any specifics and made notes of how we wanted things to go, worked on the time line, confirmed information, and checked out the room.
