Need Help Finding A Venue

I desperately need help. Our budget is around $10,000.00 and we really want an indoor ceremony/reception. I've looked at a lot of places and most are too expensive or offer an outdoor ceremony with and indoor reception.

It can be anywhere between Daytona Beach and Orlando. No beach wedding, no outdoor wedding, just something decent and affordable. Please help, we need suggestions!

How many guests do you have? What do you look to spend per person?  Is 10,000 for the whole wedding or just for the venue?

Between 150 and 200 guests. $10,000 is for the whole wedding. I just looked up some community centers and I'm going to check at least one out. We're working on saving more for the wedding but it seems 10,000 is a safe estimate of our funds.

I don't know how much per person, looking at some of the prices 15 to 20 per person was about all we could do.

You could do a friday wedding or sunday, most places will give you a discount for that and if you don't do a sit down meal that will save you.  Check out locations owned by the city. Try the Orange Country Historic Center, not sure how much they cost, but city owned places are usually less expensive.

I'm also having a 10,000 dollar wedding but my guest list is only 100. You should check out the longwood community building and I know another bride on here was using a community building in Daytona that was nice.  A lot of the affordable venues I looked at maxed out at 120 people.

Lake Mary Event Center has a beautiful rotunda for ceremonies. It is affordable, but you have to book early. As said above, Fridays and Sundays are an option there that might make it easier to get a date.

I'm getting married at the Ventura Golf Country Club in Orlando. I'm getting married at the gazebo outside but a lot of weddings take place inside the reception hall. It's $1000 for 4 hours (which is a steal) for 250 people and you can add hours for $200 per. They do their own catering and the food (which is amazing) would be about $19.95 per person but that's without gratuity or tax. I would look into it, they're wonderful people!

Victoria Gardens in DeLand is pretty affordable, and located right off I4 exit 116 (I work there but a different "department". The banquet coordinator is awesome, and has a bunch of supplies to help keep costs down, such as centerpieces. We had a change over in ownership, so our wedding website is currently down, but here is the link to weddingwire http://www.weddingwire.com/biz/the-club-at-victoria-gardens-deland/4124a4b678ee90c7.html.  The Clubhouse has a ballroom for reception, but also allows outdoor ceremonys OR the Victoria Room is used for ceremonys, it has glass windows overlooking the pool.

Someone else on the board just got married at DeBary Hall, and I believe kept her cost down.

If I can help at all let me know!

I also recommend checking out the Lake Mary Events Center.  It has beautiful spots for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony and then the ballroom for the reception.  I do believe that to rent it on a Friday is cheaper.  They book fast though so I would check them out as soon as possible.

    Good luck!

Someone on here is using the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora and I believe they got a dinner for like 12 dollars a person. That is a steal.

I don't think Lakeside Inn is actually that inexpensive.  They were in our final 4 choices and we went back 3 times to meet with Lisa.  Our final quote was $10,700 for 150 people.  That included a 1 meal buffet with an additional beef tips station.  As far as alcohol is concerned, it is a "pay ahead of time -- token system bar."  She said everyone would get like 2 chips and that would be their free drinks.  After that it would convert to a cash bar.  She said at that price she would be able to give us what she predicted would be about 2 hours worth of bar for a 3.5 hour event (we also weren't too thrilled that we'd have to cut down from 4 ours to 3.5).  She said each person would get 2 or 3 chips (I don't remember exactly how many) and between those and others not drinking, so therefore giving away their chips that should last about 2 hours.  For cocktail hour we were allotted $600 worth in apps.  This equated to 2-3 apps (depending on what we chose).

The reception also could not be held at the Lakeside Inn due to the size, but they have a partnership with the Yacht Club down the street.  This was a very nice room, but the seating arrangement for 150 seemed a bit awkward to us.  Most of our guests would sit at traditional tables, the rest would sit at little 4 seaters near the bar.  Not necessarily a bad thing, just not quite what we were looking for.

All in all, I think Lisa was very nice and helpful.  She worked hard to offer us something in our budget.  Unfortunately, Lakeside is just a bit of a pricey place, so she really did all she could.  I'd encourage you to meet with her, especially if bar is not as important to you.  She offered other options where we could buy a keg and a few bottles of wine to save us a lot of money, but unfortunately we are kinda big on drinks and full bar was important to us.

There are many venues in the Daytona Beach area that can accommodate your guest count and your budget. Many of the beach side hotels are willing to work with you if you just ask. Sometimes it's best to meet with them in person. If you have a wedding planner, he/she should be able to get you a great place within your budget.

Well, thanks for the help. I've been checking every city in the district for public facilities. I will check into these suggestions. Thanks again!
