John Michael Catering

Hi Ladies! I'm new here -- getting married January 2012. I was wondering if any of you have used John Michael Catering. The packages seem wonderful for the price. Just curious about your personal experiences.

Also, do any of you have pictures of the setup -- tables/chairs/etc. Thanks for your help!

Michael was great! I went to one of his tastings though and was unimpressed by the food. We ended up going with Levan's because they agreed to price match with our quote from John Michael, and even threw in some extras.

I went with John Michaels because we really liked him and enjoyed the tasting. Our wedding was a little over a month ago and we were really impressed by the food. A lot of the guests came up to us and told us how great the food was. I thought the attention to us was the best part. By the time the ceremony was over we had all the wait staff coming up to us and offering to get us what ever we want. They did the same for the wedding party and family that were taking pictures. Also, the catering supervisor was amazing and helped set up some many things and kept my mind at ease while I was waiting for everything to start.

But go to a group tasting and find out from there if you like their food or not.

John Micheal's is the best! We got so many compliments on the food. They also did a wonderful job transitioning our ceremony room into our reception room (under 30 min. transition time). I changed my package so many times and Micheal was a pleasure to work with. You can go to the tastings without committing to anything. He has them about every 3 to 4 months.

I didn't end up using Michael because we didn't select the Lake Mary Events Center for our wedding. However, I was in communication with him for good period as we were making decisions and I found him extremely professional, helpful and responsive which wasn't the case for all of the caterers we were researching. Even the venue had recommended him.

i completely agree with xharmony- I was SOOOOO unimpressed by him and his food. He refused to set up a tasting with me because according to him we had been to a group tasting (my mom had). I couldnt make any of the other times and I told him I was paying for it not my mom and I was not going to hire a caterer and serve food if I hadn't tasted it. He reluctantly gave me a tasting and personally I thought the food was awful. It might have just been what he was serving (the tasting is whatever the event that nights food is). For the same price he offered we had puff n stuff do our catering. What a world a difference between the two companies. The quality of the food alone was so much better at puff n stuff. We worked with Heidi and she was the best.
