Anyone been to Bali in the somewhat recent past?  Looking for suggestions on places to stay, things to do, or any sort of info you might have!  We are looking to go for about 10 days in July/Aug and might stopover in hong kong or singapore on the way there/home. Thanks!!

    Hi there,

    I'm originally from Indonesia and have been to Bali a couple times.
    10 days is perfect and July is a great time to go since Bali is a bit cooler during that month and not as hot/humid.

    Hotel prices are pretty reasonable in Bali - you can even opt for a private villa with pool and they are quite reasonable. Otherwise for 5+ star hotels the St Regis, Banyan Tree, Alila are really nice.

    I would say spend a couple nights in the beach area (Seminyak/Nusa Dua) and then a couple days inland (Ubud).

    Things to do: there are tons of things to do in Bali. Massages are super cheap so definitely get those :) A bike tour is fun, snorkeling, parasailing, etc...

    Restaurants: Bebek Bengil in Ubud (famous duck rice), Warung Made
