How much time does it take to set up your venues?

How much time does it take to set up your venues? We are having the ceremony and reception in the same location. Its in a senior center room that is 98 feet by 48 feet . We are having about 150 guest. Its basically a big empty room. I was wondering how long will it take to set up tables ( centerpiece will be done they just need to set up the tables and settings) and all. how long did it take to set up your weddings?

My venue opens at 4 and the cocktail hour starts at 6. I just met with my caterer (she is doing my tables, linens etc) and she said it would take between 1-1:45 hours to do everything.

I guess it would depend on how involved your whole setup is and how many people you have helping you.

Ours took a long time, mostly because we were on a big empty rooftop with literally nothing there. We started setting up the day before the wedding. I think they started around 3 the day before and went until about 7 that night when we broke for the rehearsal. The morning of the wedding, they started about 8am, and went until 3, I think?

I don't know if that's really much help, since it sounds like our setups were very different, but that's how mine went. (I'm sure that's not the norm, though)

Yeah . lol. were having about 15-20 people help set up . The tables and chairs are already on location we just have to move them around and put the tables together( linens, Centerpieces) . Were doing a buffet so that plates and wht not wont be at the tables. We are having the ceremony  chairs on the dance floor area and then when the "cocktail hour " is going on about 15-20 of the guys are going to move the chairs to the tables. Our venue that were thinking about opens up 3 hours before whatever time we set . I am think it should give us enough time to set up. I was just making sure I  had enough time to set up.  were making everything before ( centerpiece, etc. ) before and bring them over.

I think 3 hours would be plenty for that, then.  :)

yes you will have plenty of time! if you aren't having silverware and wine glasses etc set out on the tables then it should go really quickly. I think that since I am having a plated/seated dinner it takes longer because they have to put the silver ware and all 3 glasses (red, white, and water) out at each place setting. My caterer assured me it would all be sone in the 2 hours they had to do it in, so I'm sure you will be fine!
