I'm looking for a caterer that can do a heavy hor dourves or light lunch for around $2k, 100 people. I can trim my guest list a bit.. but I am having trouble finding anything! Please help!

I am using Aaron's Creations Catering out of Sanford. They are budget friendly and really good. Try giving them a call or email them.

We are using John Michael and he's been very flexible with us and worked with our budget and even suggested things I didn't think we could afford.  He has tastings every two months so maybe you can go to one before you decide on him.

I went with Puff N Stuff because they have their stuff together as a company. We had originally planned on going with Creations Catering but I kept hearing multiple answers and different answers when I asked questions. Plus they took forever to get back with me. Hope this helps!

We used Vinelli's Catering.  VERY budget friendly with loads of perks. They will do whatever menu you want including recipes from your collection.
    ROCK IS KING!!

So it looks from your signature line that you are going with Lake Mary Events Center for your venue (me too J ) If you are you have a select few caterers that you can select from. I want to say Arthurs, Puff and Stuff, Big City, John Michaels, Levans, and I think one more that I can’t remember. I have met with Arthurs and Levans and they both seem affordable. I have heard that Hors D’oeuvre’s can be more expensive. I would call around and explain what you are looking for and what your budget is and see what they offer you. I do know that if you decide on stations that most a lot is added for chefs to man those stations or something. Levans seemed really willing to work with any budget so you may want to start with them.  For what we were looking for there was like a 400 dollar difference between Arthurs and Levans. I hope that helps.

@Britt can you tell me what happened with Bjoleies or what ever? I have a friend that is looking into using his services and I would love be able to advice her in the right direction. You can PM if you dont want to discuss it here.

Everyone has been SO helpful! I want to have my ceremony and reception at LMEC, but they have preferred caterers, and it doesn't' seem like anyone will be within budget.. So I'm thinking about switching the reception to the Farmers Market so that I can chose my caterer.

    Thank you so much!

We just signed our contract with Levan's Catering. We are working with Tanya and she has been such a great help. Our tasting was fantastic and they worked with our budget. I also have to say that they were VERY VERY VERY professional. Unlike some of the caterers that we had met with. Hint: Tuxedo Catering!

I also met with Bjoely Catering and these are just a few pros and cons that FI and I went over.

    Pros:
He is very cheap and works with your budget
You get lots of food for your buck
His centerpieces and decor are amazing
    Very nice man

    Cons:
    His food is too salty
His company is not a registered catering company
He is basically working by himself
He works out of his home (illegal by the way)

<div>We also used Tanya with Levan's and they were AMAZING! They seemed a bit high at first, but they beat John Michaels quote for us when we told them we were unsure about the two - and even added in tons of extras for us (free soda, kids meals, etc.) They will work with any budget, just tell them what you can afford, and they will make something work for you. They did an unbelievable job at my wedding! The food was just as good as the tasting & their service was outstanding. All our guests raved about it. </div><div>

We are using Arthurs and I couldn't be happier! We were going to use John Michaels but then I went to a tasting and thought the food was absolutely horrible. Worst experience ever. Arthurs food is beyond what i could have imagined and I am so happy. The price is worth it.
