Aruba Honeymoon... Suggestions, Thoughts, Ideas???

My FI and I are getting married September 15th. We have been trying to decide on a honeymoon location for September 17th-24th, and are thinking about Aruba. I was just wondering if any of you have been there, especially in September? Where did you stay? Was it affordable, etc.? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Smile

We are going to Aruba in July for our HM.  We are going for 10 days but we are staying at 2 different hotels.  The first one is the Tara Beach Suites/Bucuti resort which is an adults only resort not in the high rise area.  We are staying here for 3 nights then we are staying at the Renaissance for 6 nights.  They have their own private beach.  We are paying around $3200 for the airfare and hotels.  We opted not to do an all inclusive because Aruba is known to have really great restaurants and we did not want to be strapped down to only the places in the hotel.

However if you do decide to go the all inclusive route I heard the RIU is really nice.

We were able to get both of our flights, direct, round trip for a total 1000 on JetBlue. So that's 500 each, really awesome deal. JetBlue flies direct from Boston every Monday. Haven't finalized accommodations yet, waiting for a friend who has a timeshare who is checking prices everyday for us. I was told not to stay in an All Inclusive since the food on the island is amazing, so that's a good place to save some money.

My lovely in-laws have a time share and they rented us a place at the Marriot Ocean Club... or possibly Surf Club? They're right next to each other. They look lovely... We're headed there in October, partly because they're out of the hurricane chain. I vote Aruba! Then you can come back and tell me all about it :)

biz717 that is where we will be staying! Our friends have a timeshare at the Surf Club, they are so obsessed. All they do is send us pictures and videos from the hotel. They're Aruba finatics and gave us a list of things to do and places to eat. Even DVR'd a show on Aruba and made us watch it. Looks amazing.

Our friends also just got back from a cruise for their honeymoon and stopped in Aruba. They said it was their favorite stop out of all of them (all amazing locations). Couldn't be more excited. 4 months from now I'll be there!

There is a restaurant right on the beach (I mean feet in sand or water!) called the flying fishbone that is awesome...food was good, but the setting can't be beat! It's a bit out of town, so you need a car or taxi, but so worth it!

I also heard Madame Janette's was amazing. Defintiely checking that out.

We stayed at the Tara Suites and loved it. The room was amazing, clean and had a great view of the beach. It was super quiet compared to the high rise part of the islane. You can always take a cab to the high rise area for shopping, etc.

Another other famous restaurant is El Gaucho - great steaks.

We're going on our honeymoon later this month in Aruba.  We're staying at the Bucuti Beach Suites and Resort.  It will be our third trip to Aruba; we've stayed at Bucuti on both trips.

My best recommendation is to make sure your resort matches your lifestyle.  Our place is quiet, serene with no kids allowed.  It's in the "low rise" area ... unhurried and
non-fussy.  If that sounds boring to you, then the "high rise" area might be better.

Good luck and have a wonderful honeymoon!

Don't worry to much about the weather, it is more their raining season but if it does rain it comes out of no where and lasts for a few minutes.  Good excuse to go to the room <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />!!  In the 8 years we have gone only one year in October was the weather yucky all week, but the sun would come back out in the early afternoon.
