Just a heads up, instead of starting a bajillion threads, you can read back and lurk on other boards.

There is an entire DIY board.  I've never posted there, so lurk before you jump in.

    Good luck.

Favors and invitations are good DIY things. Guest book and some items like that are good DIY, too.

The ring bearer pillow is an easy project that can save you some money. Like Brit mentioned, favors and invitations as well. Also, if you're doing your own invitations, any sort of menu/escort/place cards can be done along with them.

How much money do you think you've saved on certain DIY projects verses actually purchasing??

are table place cards easy to do? Such as the number at the table (or name) where everyone sits. Has anyone done them for their wedding?

wow cherri, love your projects. been thinking of using the flerr del lis myself, my FI has always favored that symbol and just think it would be nice for a wedding as a running theme.

I did my own table number cards.  It wasn't too difficult. I found a graphic I liked and created a template in publisher.  I printed them on cardstock and I will put them in frames I bought at the dollar store.  They match the invitations I created.

I did my own programmes, and my mom and grandmother did a lot of the crafty stuff for us. Card box, programme box, bathroom kit containers, etc. There are pics on my For Sale page. A DIY queen I am not, but I know how to employ people who are!

I did my invitations. I saved a lot, but my sister designed them for me so that helped too.

    Envelopes: $6
    Paper: $28
    Printing: $40

That was for both the invitations and response cards (postcard). Ordering them would have cost me at least twice as much. I still had to add in the cost of stamps and clear address labels, but everyone has to buy stamps and the labels made my life much easier. lol. DIY can definitely save you money, but I think you have to pick and choose what you want. Taking on too many projects can drive ppl crazy.

I did my table numbers, hotel boxes, programs, cake stand, um I dont remember what else I have on my list. It was fun. Most of it saves a lot of money, some is about the same price but it is your way and comes out nicer than what you could buy.

    I did:

    -STDs
    -invitations
    -programs
    -place cards
    -table numbers
    -card box
    -guest book
    -favors
    -bar menus
    -flower girl basket
    -thank you cards

    I think thats everything...

Paper products are definitely a good way to save money (depending on what style, your available resources such as a good printer etc) but time consuming.  Whatever you decide to DIY, make sure you do some research first and see if you're really saving money (if that's your sole motivation to DIY).

for designing your invitations, did you use special programs to do it, such as photoshop or illustrator?
