PSA: On your wedding day.....

Make SURE your dress is unbustled prior to the ceremony!! Ugh. I could kill myself...

My alterations lady showed my coordinator how to bustle it at my last fitting appointment, and I guess they put it back in the bag that way. I was so all over the place the morning of, I didn't even notice it was STILL bustled. And actually I didn't realize it today until I started going through all my photos.

What's dumber, is that I had my coordinator meet me after dinner to bustle it, and she acted like she was doing it. Soooo, not sure what happened there. If she had told me it was already bustled, I could have gotten some photos after the fact...

Majorly bummed. Probably just my own stupidity, but just in case someone else is as silly as me...:)

fyi, most alterationsist will bustle it when they give it to you in the bag because it fits better that way.  They are then are supposed to inform you that you need to take it out, unbustle it so that it lays how it should for the wedding day. If your alterationist didn't do this that is bad, what is worse is your coordinator should have know this, pretty common knowledge in the wedding world.

She was probably embarrassed that she hadn't let it down when you asked her to bustle it didn't know how to respond.

Sorry you didn't get the full affect of your dress in your pictures.

I couldn't image how you felt when you looked at the pictures. Not to mention that NO ONE told you. Thanks for the warning  .  Are you going to take pictures of it with out the bustle?  Maybe an after shoot ?

Yeah, I would have figured the MOH would have noticed since its their job to make sure your dress looks nice at the ceremony. Sorry! :(

Yeah, my MOH went dress shopping with me, but in her defense, she hadn't seen it in 9 months. There were a lot of things going on that morning, so I guess we just all over looked it....really blame myself since I should have noticed it was too easy to walk! lol

I just really, really, wish my coordinator had told me it was already bustled afterwards....at least I could have still gotten a few pictures. We had been considering a TTD shoot, so I guess this is just one more reason now!

Honestly I don't think that speaks very well of your DOC. That should be one of the things they check before you're ever in position to walk down the aisle. Or your photogs, for that matter - they generally want to get dramatic pics of the dress before you put it on, and during the getting ready, so I can't believe they all just assumed you wanted it that way. But you said you had other issues with both of these vendors, didn't you? That's really an enormous oversight on their parts, and it's such a shame. I guess you can't ask for partial refunds just for that, but dang.

Yup, Both my DOC and my Photog turned out to be majorly disappointing. Well, definetely my DOC...my photog hasn't sent us any photos yet, so I don't want to judge too much until I get them back. But, from what I witnessed/experienced with her the day of...I'm not sure I'm going to be jumping for joy.

    Ah well, I'm married. :)

It's not all/only your DOC's fault. Yes, she should have told you after the fact when she was "bustling" it, but between you, your photog, your parents, any of your bridesmaids, your DOC someone should have noticed. Since (I'm guessing) your DOC wasn't with you when you were getting ready, she could have thought you already took your pics with the train out an wanted it bustled because you had a problem or something, but I would have thought she or someone would have said something.
That's really too bad and I'm really sorry!

Yes- you should do the TTD shoot!!!!!! You could get a really cool pic of you in the water with your train like all spread out or something like that
