Costa Rica Transfers

How did you get around in Costa Rica? We are trying to book our transfers and finding it to be complicated. Has anyone use Interbus or grayline? Or a private driver? Any info would be helpful. Oh how much did you pay if you don't mind sharing the info. We are taveling in October from San Jose airport to hotel in Manuel and then Mauel to arenal.

We booked all of our transfers through each hotel we stayed at. We simply contacted the hotel directly and they arranged everything for us.  It was very easy and each driver (we had 3 to and from trips, so 6 drivers) were very courteous.  It was very easy and reasonably priced (the price may depend on distance). Contact your resort(s); they very likely can arrange transportation for you and it was very easy.

If you need to go a long distance, I would suggest looking into Nature Air.  We flew with them from San Jose to Punta Islita and it was great fun (and very inexpensive).

Private transport down here is expensive, but people in tourism tend to have the hookup to make it more reasonable. Interbus is a good option, and your hotels should have recommendations, as well. I second the Nature Air recommendation; they're fantastic.

Where is Manuel? Does that mean Manuel Antonio?

Yes I mean Manuel Antonio. Also, trying to figure out where is better to go ziplining Arenal or Manuel Antonio?

<div>We actually rented a car and drove around.  I know it seems a little crazy and at first I thought my husband had lost his mind, but it really worked out well.  The roads are well maintained and easy to drive on. We were able to see a lot more of the country with our own transportation.  One warning... they hold a large amount on your credit card to rent a vehicle. </div><div>
