Florida-Central Florida

So I checked out the 2nd venue today.

So the FIRST one we were talking about getting was a senior center that had a room that is 98' by 48' . They want to charge

$95 and hour ( were renting for 6 hours ) =$570
$95 for a clean up fee =$95
$250 security deposit we will get back =$250

So basically it would cost us $700 not including $250 deposit . They have a kitchen on site and the tables and chairs. The room fits 150 dancing or 450  in  theater seating . They also have 2 men and 2 women bathroom and extra rooms and there right next to a park.  They also said that we get 3 hours "free" to set up before the wedding and a hour at the end.  My parents surprised us and told us they will pay the security deposit and half the venue . So we would only pay $350 .

Here's pictures of the room there not great but the only I could find. THe GPBSC is not there anymore it is now a 16' by 9' projector and they also have a stage . Its also way bigger its just pictures of the ends of the room.

The SECOND one I called today . It is a knight of columbus . Its basically a fancy duble wide trailer .If you google  Knights of Columbus 6725 Babcock St SE Malabar, FL 32950-5004 you can see the street view of it.   Well When I called I asked how much they rent out there hall for . They said $800 for 9 hours. That includes set up and take down time. Tables and chairs included  They have a small kitchen on site too.  They only fit 230 people theater style seating.  A $50 clean up fee and a security deposit of $250 .  So $850  would be the total . Not including the $250 deposit

So I think were going to pick Venue Number one. lol. What do you all think ?

I don' know why you would pick the second. It costs more and it's a trailer.... But, I would also look at more than two places.

I looked at alot of places. These were the last two . One is the best so far. Melbourne has laws against having more then 100 people at your wedding so you have to pull permits and get insurance and all this crazy stuff. So were limited to Palm Bay basically.

My mother told me to check out the Knights of Columbus(KOC) because her friend got married there and she said it fit 350 people  and was only like $300. needless to say the venue is not $300. lol

Whaaat? I didn't know they had laws like that, that's crazy! I say #1, it's kind of a blank slate so you could dress it up however you want.

Yeah I looked into alot of them. The closes civic center is about 40 mins away its not to big.  I looked into some halls but they dont fit over 100 in most. Then like I said in melbourne you have to have insurance and a permit. The theater around here only fir about 100 or have like 4 different rooms and none are big enoug .  The senior center is actually leased out by the city.
