Catering for Lake Mary Events Center!

Hello All! I just booked my venue and it will be at the Lake Mary Events Center in May of 2012! I have my first consultation with a caterer named John Michael. Has anyone used him before?! Also, if you have used or are using Arthurs catering or Big City catering can you please provide me with your input! Thank you so much :)!

    Congrats on booking your day at the LMEC!  I'm an LMEC bride too! That venue is just to die for!  

    As far as caterers...We looked at Big city and was quoted approx. $7,100 for 4 apps, beef and chicken, mashed potato bar, veggies, and drinks (semi-stocked bar) for 100 ppl.  I got the quote a year ago so I might be missing a salad or something but this was out of our budget.  Big City was extremely nice so you couldn't go wrong with them but it seemed like a lot for what we wanted.

    Our quote for Arthur's was around 6,200 with 4 apps, beef brisket, fish grilled on site (they set up grill and everything), salad, potatoes, shrimp and grits, veggies, banana's foster AND bar minus $400 in alcohol we'd provide.  Needless to say we went with Arthur's and have not looked back!

    I have no experience with John Michaels but I hear they are good but not very flexiable on thier menu options.  Again no real experience that's just what was relayed to me through other vendors. In my opinion if you're a foodie I would go with Arthur's and ask for Lori!  She is fantastic!

    Congrats on your choosing the LMEC that is a beautiful center, they booked so far in advance too!  I think it great you are on the board! This is Kristin you should get Annie on the board too!

    I am having around 130 guests, and i really want to stay at about $40pp... I just read your review... actually all your reviews and everything seemed great! So I will definitely check them out and thank you all for all your help!

    We got married at LMEC Feb 26th and used Arthur's! They were by far one of the best vendors we had!! SO professional, food and drinks were incredible. Always there on hand and foot for me and my husband as well as our guests. I have never had so many guest compliment how great the staff food and drinks were! People actually said it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted.


    I say go with Arthur's hands down. Can't say enough about how amazing they made our wedding day =)
