I hope i get invited to your wedding......

Has anyone come up to you and said this? How do you respond? I've had several people say this to me and it makes me feel so bad because I had no intentions of inviting them. We're not close friends or anything. It just makes me so mad because I work with them and I just think it's so inconsiderate. This isn't some house party where you can invite anyone and and your friends, this is a very expensive event and we have over 100 people that's just family.

Yes I've had to deal with it too. I'm not inviting any co-workers it's a rule my FI and I set down to manage our guest list from the begining. In this case I say something like"I would love to have you there but my FI and I agreed not to invite co-workers to make sure the amount of guest we have can stay within our budget"

It pretty much goes the same for other people too. You can say something along the lines, "we are trying to keep the guest list small due to our budge", or" I appreciate your excitement but we haven't even started our guest list yet and we know it's going to be smaller because we are on a budget"

Blame it on the budget, most people will understand. Hope that helps a little
