Hi, everyone!

I thought it would be nice just to connect with other brides in the area. It would be nice to have some newlywed friends.

Where is everyone from? I'm in Deland, near Stetson University (my alma mater).

I'm in DeLand now, too, although I haven't gone to school at Stetson.  I was thinking of taking some continuing education classes there starting next year, though. 

We're thinking of having our wedding in Orlando...we're going to the Orlando Bridal Crawl tomorrow to check out some locations and vendors.  I'm very excited.

SilverSarah--Sounds like a fun day We're having our wedding here in Deland at First United Methodist, which is where I attend church. Our reception is going to be at the Grant Bly House on New York Ave. It's a great little place. What made you decide on Orlando?

Woohoo, Stetson alumni! Class of 2002! (bumbblebe, I think we talked about this before). I'm Ashley, my FI is Jeff. We're getting married under the huge old oak tree in front of the Mennello Museum and having our reception around the corner at the Loch Haven Neighborhood Center on March 24, 2012. It's going to be low key and we have 4 Rivers doing the food. We're doing a 7 day cruise to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize and Honduras for our honeymoon. Love to show off my ceremony site:

Hey Berryblue!

On top of not having a place of worship to consider, 99% of our guests will be from out-of-state or out-of-country, so it would be more polite to stick near a large airport for all of them.   That, and most of the venues we have liked thus far have been in the Orlando area. 

I went to the Bridal Crawl down in Orlando today and it was a lot of fun.  There were several venues we visited, and tons of vendors at each site.  The sites are listed below, copied from the website.

abricadabra--Hi! I don't know where the Tavern and Chapel are, but I do know where Port Orange is lol. You've still got a while til your wedding, but I bet you are already super excited and planning, huh?
