Makeup - OH NO!!

When I asked my hairdresser to do my hair for my wedding, I asked her if she knew anyone who did makeup. She said she loves to do makeup and would do that to. Great!

I had the makeup trial today and it turned out awful. Horrible. Terrible. I cannot have her do my makeup for my wedding. I don't want to upset her though - she will still be doing my hair! What do I tell her?

I am thinking this weekend I will head to the Millenia Mall and have one of the makeup booth people do it at Bloomies or something. Does anyone recommend anyone?

I have a friend who does makeup professionally. She's done makeup for models that have been in Central Florida magazines. Here is her website. Hope this helps!

I looooved my makeup person - Janet at Onsite Beauty.  You can see my reviews and her handiwork on my website, in my signature.  She did my hair, too, which was a challenge, and all of my bridesmaids and my mom.

Are other bridesmaids/moms getting their hair/makeup done too?  Can you say that you'd like your hairdresser to not feel rushed and be able to concentrate on you and your hair, so you thought you'd get a makeup artist to "help out"?

Tell her your mother (or whoever) insists on paying for the make up and therefore wants to use their make up artist.

Don't lie to her.  Be honest.  Tell her that the direction she went with your make-up was not what you had in mind and you have decided to go another route.  Maybe she will offer to try again and you will love it.  If you don't tell her the truth, she will never know and never improve.

Thanks ladies! I was thinking I would tell her that I wasn't very happy with the way it turned out (which won't be a surprise to her at all) and that I went to the mall and had someone there do it and I practiced at home and feel confident I can pull it off on my own... Ya think that is OK? I don't want to offend her since she is still doing my hair!

It is just me and my sister who is the MOH no bridal party.

Thanks again! I will check out some of the suggestions for other makeup artists. The thing is she is a hair dresser not a make up artist... She needs to stick with hair!! HAHA!!
