Um...we already have a wedding crasher?!

Ok, so...during this whole wedding planning nonsense, I've felt stressed and/or irritated exactly zero times until I hit the ONE MONTH mark a couple of days ago...

FI and I heard last month (through his dad) that FI's aunt was bringing a guest. This guest is IN ADDITION to her husband. We thought that it was just talk, and that it would blow over and this lady wouldn't actually come...but today, it was confirmed that she IS attending. NEITHER of us know who this mystery lady guest is. They're picking her up on the way down here (they live in OH and she lives in SC apparently). As best as we can figure...she is FI's second cousin-in-law or some crap. Odds are, shes not bringing a gift, since she doesn't know us...and doesn't know where we're registered for gifts since she um...wasn't invited. Not that I'm totally concerned with gifts...its just irritating that shes somehow showing up to eat our food and drink from our bar all night for "free". WHO ARE YOU!?

We will probably have around 70 guests total, so its not a HUGE wedding anyways...and this lady is the ONLY person that will be there that NEITHER of us know.  Yikesss.

I never thought I'd have a crazy random guest story to share on here. Hahaha. NOT COOL.

We don't even know what name to put on her escort card!
"That one lady that's not invited - Table 4"?

We ended up having quite a few snafus with extra people..I let my DOC work it out cuz I could care less since this was happening as we were lining up for our intros :/ It didn't come down to money, as most people don't realize it's about adding an extra chair, table, CP, and yadda yadda ya but DH's mom ended up giving us a few dollars to cover the extra guests as it was her family :p

I think it's the principle of the matter and you should address it. Maybe it's starting a family fued when there doesn't need to be one but I'd have to confront the situation. I would Just call or have one of your parents call and ask her name and why they are bringing her. I would have to hear their justification and also point out that it's an invitation only event. You do what feels right to you. Maybe sleep on it.

That would drive me crazy too. My uncle said "oh you have to invite 'great aunt so and so' and "Cousin you know.'" Yeah well, I don't really know them and inviting second cousins and my grandparents siblings was not in the guest count. Then later on I was informed that she already had her plane ticket and was coming so I HAD to invite her. Then I found out that she is married too, so ANOTHER person to add to the list. Then (though it really didn't matter but i felt the same way you do about this), they didn't give us a gift at the wedding but slipped a card under our door the morning after with a $20 in it. Not enough to cover even one of their meals but whatever. I didn't care about the gifts from anyone else but because I didn't want them there, it ticked me off. But my day went off fine and it is $20 I didn't have before so that's nice. Just sayin that I feel ya. lol

haha, yeah! its just the principle of the matter.

FI had mentioned his irritation about the whole thing to his dad but his dad was all like...."well she IS family" ...wtf, hardly!! and neither of us KNOW her, so shes not OUR family for all we care. I think though, to avoid as much drama as possible,...we're just letting it slide, even though its annoying. =\ blah...weddings blow.
