2nd Guessing the Venue - HELP

Hey girls,

I'm having trouble with my venue and I'm not sure what to do because I really do love the venue.

I had trouble with the events coordinator not responding in a timely manner, she even forgot about one of our appointments and when I showed up she didn't have the linens that she promised to have.

Well, that lady got fired shortly there after and I didn't find out until I contacted the venue.

Now I'm working with a new chick but have requested that they add a few items to our package because of what we've dealt with. Well, the GM has to approve that and was supposed to call a week ago and we STILL haven't heard anything!

On top of it, I was supposed to get an updated linens quote over a week ago and STILL haven't heard anything!!

!@#$%

What do I have to do to be taken seriously and if I go Bridezilla on them will they just refuse to have me as a client?

I've started looking at other venues just in case, but I really don't want to have to reinvent the wheel...what should I do ladies??

In my opinion, that's totally unacceptable. What kind of a deposit did you give these people? I would probably threaten to take my business elsewhere. I'd say your best bet is a straightforward, but not accusatory phone call. If you start throwing punches, they may punch right back and you're probably a lot less likely to get what you want if you're on their bad side. Phone calls usually work better than emails, especially when they're frequent. lol Good luck! That stinks big time. :( What venue are you using? It may be nice to give some other girls who may be looking at venues, or who share your venue to have a heads up.

[QUOTE]I'd suggest calling and speaking to the GM! If you can't get the answers & communication from the person that is supposed to be doing it, go over there head! Speak with him and explain all of the problems you've been having and that now you're worried that it's going to continue and you wedding will not turn out the way it should. If he doesn't comp anything for you he should at least get on the butt of the woman that's supposed to be e-mailing you and make her do her job.

What is the venue?  It depends on how much you love it.  Will these people even play a part on your wedding day?  The Banquet Manager is usually there to ensure everything goes well, not the general manager and you can hire your own coordinator if you don't like theirs.  Also, is it a popular venue and how far away is your wedding date?  Perhaps they are just busy paying attention to brides getting married sooner and you'll receive that same attention later on.  I wouldn't give up on them yet.  Just keep on them about the linens quote.

    Thanks for the advice ladies!

I did speak with the GM a few days ago and I think I got it all straightened out. He apologized for their delay and they are offering me a few freebies to sweeten the pot.
The venue is Eagle Creek Golf Club and it’s a wonderful and BEAUTIFUL place. They have made a lot of positive changes since the original contact person got fired so I’m hoping everything will run smoothly from now on. I’m glad I was able to speak with him and that I’ve laid out what my expectations are of them. This is their last chance though. I hope they don’t let me down.
