July Brides???

Hi ladies,

I've heard July is slow season in central Florida for weddings.  Does anyone have any experience negotiating with vendors based on this?  Or know any vendors that offer 'summer discounts'?  I hate to sound 'cheap' but I'm planning from afar and I'm on a budget!!

PS- I have the venue but looking for everything else

Thank you!!

I was married in July.  I heard plenty of times about this but honestly, it was not my experience that July was a slow month.  My photographer, coordinator and venue all had weddings pretty much every weekend in July. I didn't get any discounts based on the time of year.  However, I did negotiate with my vendors to get the price I wanted regardless.  Just know what your budget is and tell them what you want and for how much.  Most of the time, they can meet what you want.

though it is ungodly hot and humid in July it is still a popular month for weddings like every where else in the country.  I would look at people's vendor reviews.

Florida vendors don't really tend to give a seasonal discount the way other states do, because our weather is pretty mild (mild is relative I guess) year round. If you get married mid January in say Michigan, you'll probably get a discount because no one wants to get married in the middle of a snow storm, but because you never have that kind of problem in Florida, vendors stay pretty busy year round.

Most of the venues I spoke to offered January, July, and August discounts for being the "slow" months, but I am not aware of any vendors that do this.  Since you al\ready have your venue, this probably won't be of any help for you -- sorry.  =(  But like Theresa said, you should still negotiate on prices.  I have been given customized prices by everyone I've booked so far.
