Orlando Venue and Catering Advice Please!

Hi ladies! I am recently engaged and would like to check out some venues while I am home in Orlando before I have to go back to school. I am looking for a venue for about 75-80 guests that I can either bring in my own caterer for or that deals with a caterer that could provide a Latin menu for my reception.

I am open to having the ceremony and reception at different places if they are nearby each other but I do not want to spend more than 2000 for both rental fees. I love the idea of an outdoors ceremony but I am looking for a summer 2012 wedding date so an indoor reception is a must.

Oh and if anyone has any experience with catering a Latin cuisine style dinner I have had very little luck finding caterers.

Thanks so much in advance for the input! :)

    I'm a Tuscawilla bride and it's $9,000 for the venue (ceremony and reception, food for 80, and tope shelf open bar)

    Hello, You may want to look at Big City Catering. I have friended them on facebook and it looks like they have done a lot of Latin Weddings. All of their pictures look great. I honestly have not ever met with them or anything but last week at a wedding they did maduros, mojo roast pork loin (looked AMAZING) and some sort of rice dish. Just looking at the pictures I wanted some of that... Umm I have a friend that has already met with them for her wedding in february and she said that their bar package allows you to bring your own liquor and they provide the glassware, mixers and garnishes. (Now that is hearsay because I dont know that for sure)

    Also they work with Lake Mary Events Center which is like 2000 for a friday I believe and there is a link to Big City Catering on their page.
    Hope this helps,

    Jeanette

    @murphanzo
    This is probably out of my budget but it seems like a great venue from what I have seen! Thank you for sharing though because it is helping me get an idea of what is out there.

    @Jeanette511
    Great thanks! I looked briefly at their website before posting this but now that I know this I am going to look into them further. This was very helpful.

    I was at a wedding last weekend in the side building of the Holy Trinity Church in Maitland that was nice, but might be too big of a space for ~75 guests.

    The University Club in Winter Park would be perfect for that number though. Its only $600 for 4 hours, and in a really pretty area of town.

    Casa Feliz is absolutly gorgeous, and would go well with a Latin theme. It was $2,000 I think, for a reception + ceremony.

    Do they have a website by any chance? If not do you mind telling me what kind of food you had catered. Thanks!

    Check out the Royal Crest Room in St. Cloud.  They are gorgeous! Also, they offer tons of different menus including a full Latin one.
