UGH!!! Wedding Corrdinator MIA!

So I met with my wedding coordinator on 3/21 to finallize everything for our April 9 wedding...well I have yet to hear from her since then!! I have emailed and Texted her about where the stuff is and she keeps saying I'll have seomthing by that night and that she is sick with phlaryngitis...that was on Monday night.

I need advise on what to do!! It is stressing me out beyond belief!!!!!!!! I want to just fire her and have my aunt who is a wedding coordinator take over but she is coming in from Seattle and I feel bad making her work!!

    Jamie,

I would call her back and state that she has until Monday at 9am to get you the information you requested and keep in communication 1x a day until after the wedding.  Explain to her that is she fails to do that that you will be hiring another wedding planner.  Let her know you understand that she is sick however you have paid a lot of money to make this day perfect and if she does not feel well enough to do the job she was hired to do then she should be honest with you and allow you to find another DOC.  This stinging along is completely unacceptable and unprofessional and she should know that.  Hope this helps!

    Fire her!!

You are paying too much money for all of this to have someone do it half.  Shoot, I am not doing anything the 9th I'd go take care of things for you!  Or if you have a friend who isn't in the bridal party they may be happy to help as well.  I just think in this time and economy being unprofessional is unexcusable.

While my knee jerk reaction would also be to fire her, you may not get your money back if you do so.  DId you pay a deposit already or the final amount? You might have to take her to civil court in order to get the money back and then you'd have to hire a lawyer, etc.  I would talk to your aunt about what's going on and give her all the info she needs to make sure your wedding day is perfect. YOu could even offer to pay your aunt whatever the remaining deposit is on the other lady for her services.  Or just get her a really nice gift card, etc.  IT's great that you have someone in mind as a back up plan and I would get that started right away.

My fiance said she is fired if we do not hear from her by Saturday. She was only $400 and I have paid her $300. I just paid her Half of that a few weeks ago and I thought I heard somewhere that you can dispute checks too??Hmm I'll have to call my bank.

Thank goodness we have good vendors who keep telling me they can do it with out a wedding coordinator!

I am a wedding planner and it is people like this that gives us a bad name. I do not have a wedding scheduled for that weekend, but to save the name of wedding planners I would do it for free just to help you out. As a wedding planner I apologize for her actions,  not all wedding planners act like this.
