budgeting percentages

so I know this was posted awhile ago and I went back and tried to find it but couldn't. I would appreciate if someone could post roughly what percentage of a budget is spent on what such as flowers 5% ... etc.

I really appreciate the help. I am getting married next Oct. and my mom is already hounding me like I am supposed to know what every vendor costs.  I don't even have my reception venue picked yet.  Ok enough venting haha, again I would really appreciate the help.  She is stuck in the 80s mindset of weddings when she got married on how things are done.

TIA!!!

The knot has a budgeter thing & you can put in your overall budget & it will break it down for you! It's pretty cool. Click "my knot" then my budget & you can input numbers. You can also remove things you know you don't want/need and add stuff. Good luck!

The thing I don't like about the Knot budgeter is it doesn't let you exclude things. I'm not having a flower girl or a veil, but it forces me to allow for them anyway. This one is nice because it lets you include only what you want: http://www.yourweddingcompany.com/templates/planning/budget_calc.php/action/showProject/planId/3/budget_calc.php
Here's a basic breakdown by percentage: http://www.weddingarden.com/budgetbreakdown.php It doesn't break down what's included in each category though. I just did a search for "wedding budgeter" and "wedding budget percentage". Good luck!

I love the wedding budgeter at www.ourweddingday.com.

Also, from the knot book of wedding lists:  reception and rentals: 48%
    ceremony: 3%
    rings: 3%
stationery (stds, invites, programs, guest book, menus, escort cards, napkins, thanks, postage, etc) 3%
    flowers: 8%
    photography and videography: 12%
    attire: 10%
    entertainment: 8%
    transportation and accomodations: 2%
    gifts for others: 3%

a wedding planner is an extra 10% of your budget

It depends on how important the flowers are going to play into your ceremony, reception. It also depends on where you're going to have it...It all breaks down to what's important for you, as well as the size of your wedding..TYPICALLY in my area (Volusia county) the brides flowers start at about $150 and the bridesmaids about $50..boutenniers tend to be about $10 give or take a few

shell...that is exactly what I'm paying for flowers! Except my bouquet is $100. I'm paying just under $700 for flowers including flowers for reception and ceremony...not too bad and it was right in our budget. :)
