Creative & Unique GetAway Options

Hey Ladies! Thoughts and Opinions are needed!!
So, my wedding is at The Ballroom at Church Street, and we are staying the night at the Grand Bohemian for the wedding night. I don't want to walk back to the hotel after the reception is over, but i think it is absolutley CRAZY to spend money on a limo to take us two blocks to the hotel.
My mom thought of the option for one of those bicylcle pedi-cabs to pick us up and have it be decorated to say "Just Married". It would prob be affordable and different. But is this cheesy in any way?
Any other suggestions that you guys can think of? I also thought of renting a classic car for the night, but i don't want either of us to drive either, especially after drinking all night at the wedding. Help is sooooo appreciated!

Horse and carriage?  I'm pretty sure you can do this downtown.

I went to a wedding several years ago and the Church was downtown and the reception was at the Ballroom and they took a carriage ride from the Church to the reception.

You can hire a classic car WITH a driver too.

We were thinking about using the Ballroom, and we were going to the pedi-cab thing, it would be really cute! A horse and buggy would be awesome or a vintage car.

<div>We did this. I went to Old Town on a Saturday afternoon, found a nice old man with a turquoise and white 55 Chevy, paid him $100, and he picked us up from the reception at Casa Feliz and drove us to the Grand Bohemian.</div>

I'd do the pedi cab thing. I don't like horse and carriage things. They stink and I personally find it cruel to the horses.

Pedi cab sounds fun! We stayed at the GB and we just walked to the venue. That's when we took a lot of our pictures

We are walking to the venue before the ceremony as well with our wedding party. But we thought that we shoudl have a way to get back at night, that didn't involve walking past the bar crowd at Mako's or Antigua on a Saturday night. Plus it woudl be fun to have a great send off, jus tthe two of us.
    Thanks for all the suggestions!!!
PrettyParulaI LOVE THAT IDEA!!! was he just some random guy though? How did you ensure that he was goign to show up and do that for you? Contract? Good faith?

Alyssa, did you happen to keep that guy's number?  Think he's looking for hire?

    Brie and Erin,

It was just a random guy. Actually, it was a different guy. I was there for maybe 5 minutes and saw this dude pulling in with the car of my dreams (turquoise and white '55) so I went up and asked him if he lived around here and explained the situation. He said that he just came down for the winter, but had a friend in Poinciana who had the same car. He called him up right then, and put me on the phone with him.

His name is Bill, and we called him Mr. Bill. This wasn't something he did regularly, but he said it sounded like fun and gave me his contact info. When I asked him about payment, he said "well, how about a night at a casino.... a small island..." lol! Later on we asked him about payment again and he said that he knew someone who charged $200 to do that, but he thought that was too much and said $100 would be fine with him. We also told him we'd get him some good prints of his car. He was very cool with it - I told him we'd make sure no one touched his car, but he said he didn't care about that anymore (he drives his car regularly, it's not just for show). We didn't have a contract with him or anything. He was just a nice old guy and he made sure he had our contact info so he could get to us or our DOC in case something happened with the car that day. We kind of had a backup plan, but figured we wouldn't need to use it.

I'm not sure if he'd be up for doing it again, but I can call him and find out. You could also head down to Old Town one weekend and I'm sure you'd find someone who'd be willing to do it as well, just in case Mr. Bill doesn't want to make a business out of this. ;)

If you're not in the Old Town area they actually have "meet & greet" car shows all over. Fi started taking his truck to them, some of them have newer muscle cars, but all of them have old cars too. I can get the websites from Fi if anyone wants them, but they have them all around Seminole County (and probably other ones too). I know one is call the Bow Tie Club and I think the other is Classic Cars... I could be wrong, but if Google doesn't work and anyone wants the website just let me know and I'll get it for you.
