Orlando Bachelorette Party Ideas?

Hi ladies!

I live in Columbus, but will be having my bachelorette party in Orlando.  I previously lived in Tampa for about a year and traveled to Orlando sometimes for work, but I'm unfamiliar with the area as far as going out is concerned.  During the day, I'd love to relax and hang out by the pool, and then do like a nice dinner one night and then out.  Any recommendations on places to go out?  I've heard about a strip of bars / restaurants, but thought it would be great to get feedback on TK.  I'm 28 and will be going with a small group of friends, so we aren't into the super college scene but aren't old either and still like to have a good time.  :)

Also, as far as places to stay, I was thinking that we'd be going out downtown at night as opposed to by any of the resorts (Disney, etc.), so I was planning on staying dtown, but I've heard the resorts have nicer pools.  Would anyone recommend staying near the resorts and coming into town at night, or is my current plan OK?  Or are there places to go at night by the resorts?  I've heard Around the World at Epcot is fun, so was thinking if we decided to do something different during the day / early evening one day we could do that, so would love to hear your thoughts on that as well.

Sorry for so many questions!!  Thanks so much for your help ladies!!

Downtown is dead.  The clubs at Citywalk are a lot better.  I would totally recommend staying at either the Hard Rock, Portofino or that polynesian one (forgot the name) at Universal.  All of them have awesome pools then you could just take a boat to citywalk, drink as much as you want and not have to pay for any transportation.  They have a really great deal where you get dinner and club admission  for 20 bucks so you could go to dinner then hit all the different clubs.  Everyone could drink because youd be already next to your hotel.

Is your bachelorette party on a weekend?  if so then downtown is a lot of fun.  there are tons of clubs, most have no cover. As far as a place to stay there really isn't anywhere nice nearby that I can remember off the top of my head.  it would be fun to stay at universal studios hotel for the pool or the caribe royale is another nice hotel.  but you would lave to take into consideration.

you said you're from tampa, me too.  why not go back and have your BP there?  Channelside, hyde park, or the casino?

[QUOTE]There are a few different places... you could def do around the world at Epcot, it just gets very pricy! Like Theresa said, Citywalk is an option at Universal (that's actually where my bachelorette was). Universal hotels are really nice, but pricy. You'd save a lot of money on a hotel by staying right off of the property. They do have some nice resorts that are near by. The only downside is you'd have to get a cab to bring you back. If you go downtown (Church street) there are some fun places and some over the top places to avoid, it is definitely not dead on Saturday nights. Personally, I like Latitudes on Saturday nights, you pay $5 to get in, Latitudes is a rooftop bar (3rd floor). With the admission you also get into Big Belly (2nd floor) which is an indoor pretty normal bar, then Chiller's in on the 1st floor (this is more of the "party" bar than the other ones). Ember is another bar that is down town, it's pretty big, relaxed bar... a little older style (meaning not really the college age/party/dancing place). If you're staying at a hotel downtown, Embassy Suites is nice and you can either get one of the bike riders (with the seats), the extended golf carts, or walk to bring you to the bars- it's not too far.

Thanks so much for the info ladies!  We ended up booking a room at The Grand Bohemian Hotel downtown.  Love the rooftop bar idea!!  Any recommendations on places to avoid?  Thanks so much for your help -- starting to get excited!  :)

As far as Tampa goes, I haven't been back for a couple years, but a lot of the fun places in Hyde Park that we used to go to closed.  The main reason I didn't pick there was flight prices -- Orlando was a lot cheaper.
