New to the board.

Hi all! My name is Leah, I have been lurking for about a week and wanted to introduce myself.I got engaged July and I'm getting married June, 4 2011. I'm from Volusia County but I'm getting married in the Altamonte Springs area. I was curious if any of you knew of some bridal stores  in the Orlando area that has BM dresses. The only place I have been to is David's Bridal in Altamonte Springs but I want to look at other options before getting my girls to order there. Any ideas?

WELCOME! Tell us a bit about yourself and your planning!  this board is great for advice and ideas.

here are tons of places that offer formal wear in orlando.  There is Something Blue Bridal in the Dr. Phillips area, there is solutions bridal, bascially any bridal store in orlando you google carries some bridesmaids.  However I would suggest looking at non-conventional way such as jcrew, ann taylor, dillards, anthropologie. This is a link to an article I did about bridesmaids dresses to give an idea how this works from a non-conventional designer such as anthropologie

Welcome! I work in Volusia County and live in Seminole, so I do know the area. Veronica's Bridal actually teamed up with Stetson Florist so they have one shop. Personally, I don't care for the shop, but they do carry some bridesmaid dresses to give you an idea of things. Also, in Altamonte there is Alfred Angelo's and Bride's by Demetrios.

    Happy Planning!

Welcome to the board and congrats on your engagement!!

I was going to recommed Alfred Angelo in Altamonte as well.  Also, there is a store in Winter Park called Bella Bridesmaid.  It is strictly bridesmaids dresses.  That is where I got my bridesmaid dresses from.  The store is super cute and the owner is a sweetheart!

    Good luck :)

Welcome! I don't have anything in the Altamonte area beyond what the ladies mentioned but my girls dresses are from Priscilla of Boston.

Where in Altamonte are you getting married?

I was just at Brides by Demetrios last week and they have a ton of samples. They carry the Dessy Group, Eden, Bill Levkoff, Jordan, and Watters & Watters. I sent websites to my girls and we picked styles that we liked and they pulled the samples that they had for us. They had like 4 aisles of samples. Our attendant was a little flaky, but other people there seemed to know what they were doing.

    Congrats!

I just picked my bridesmaid dresses, and for a wide price, style, and brand variety (Jim Hjelm, Mori Lee, Watters & Watters, Wtoo, DaVinci, Bill Lekovff) I really liked Modern Bridal - it's not in Altamonte, though, it's more downtown.  They have pretty reasonable prices - from $100 to $500, with lots in the $200 and under range. I think you get 20% off if you buy online, too.  I liked that you can go to their website to see a lot of their selection, along with the price!  http://www.modernbridalshop.com/ I like the staff at Modern Bridal too.

If you want to stay in Altamonte, then I'd say Demetrios definitely does have a nice selection, and helpful staff, with some big brands (Watters & Watters, Wtoo, etc.).

    Hope that helps!

I live in Maitland, and I am just beginning my wedding planning journey!  I haven't done very much shopping for bridesmaid dresses, but I went into Alfred Angelo (my 1st choice, based on magazines I've seen) and they were so rude to me.  I walked in about an hour before they closed and said I wanted to look at dresses.  The gentleman who greeted me said, "We're closing soon.  Sorry."  He didn't even offer me a catalogue.  So I drove across the street to David's Bridal and was helped by the most awesome girl, Brooke!  Even though I always said I'd never use David's Bridal because EVERYONE uses them, they were so nice and helpful.  And only one of my bridesmaids lives in Orlando, so since DB is all over the country, it's really the best for us to use.
