Help me pick a ceremony playlist, please!

Pretty Parula

Thanks to help from my friend who's playing violin for our ceremony, and our own lovely Theresa, I have two possible playlists for the ceremony - one is classical music and one is jazz standards, since we're already doing a lot of jazz/big band stuff at the reception to fit with the Old Hollywood feel. I can't figure out if we should have the ceremony be more traditional and romantic, or keep with the feel of the reception. I would love to get everyone's opinions! TIA!

Classical Option

Parents’ Processional – Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach)

Bridal Party Processional – Air (Bach) 

Bride’s Processional – Winter Largo (Vivaldi)

Recessional – Queen of Sheba (Handel)

 

Jazz Option

Parents’ Processional – As Time Goes By

Bridal Party Processional – All The Things You Are (Ella)

Bride’s Processional – Volare (Dean)

Recessional – Beyond the Sea (Bobby Darin) ?

I'm a sucker for classical music - it was all we had for our ceremony - so I vote for the first playlist Think of it this way: that's the kind of music they would have had at weddings even in the jazz era.

I vote for the classical pieces for the ceremony.

I would go with what would sound better on the violin. I think classical would so I would probably lean towards that.

Could you go with classical for the actual ceremony and maybe have soft jazz music playing before everything starts. That way you can have both. Idk. lol

Brit, we were thinking about that, too. I really wanted to use a couple of those jazz songs, but we may add them to the reception list instead. Queen of Sheba is SUCH a pretty piece, I think it'll be a great recessional, so I think we'll go with the classical like everyone's saying. The jazz pieces we were considering do lend themselves to violin pretty well, but it might be nice to have some contrast between the ceremony and the reception music. Thanks guys!

IDK if it would work... but what about classical walking in & during and then spice it up a little with the Jazz walking out. It should all blend since it's all violin.
