Outer Banks, NC Honeymoon?? What's the best option

We're in the Greenville, SC area and planning on going to the outer banks for our HM in May, '11. I have a place reserved at the Emerald Isles but I can cancel without a fee if we find something else. Has anyone spent time in the OB and have advice about the beaches? Is there a nicer/more HM-ish beach we should consider rather than the Emerald Isles?

    Thank you! We will definitely check out Manteo. I appreciate the advice!! I've been checking out restaurants in the Emerald Isles and it seems like there are a lot of good ones to choose from.

    Sanderling Resort in Duck is amazing, they have a traditional resort and then individual cottages.
