So me and my fiance finally decided on going to st.lucia for our honeymoon but today when I was thinking about the honeymoon I almost want to go to florida for a week but drive down and just take our time and enjoy it and see what we want when we want. Idk what to do   Has anyone else ever done this?

We are flying to Florida for our honeymoon, and going to Universal theme parks and a few other places

I don't think what you are thinking of is weird, but if you choose to do it, have some kind of plan so you don't wake up and spend half the day wondering where to go/what to do

i dont think any honeymoon idea is weird if that's what the couple wants to do.

Well, I guess it depends. What cities would you be planning on stopping at on your way down? I will warn you that it is a long and boring drive down I-95. But, you could stop in cities such as Philadelphia (where I live!), Baltimore, DC, Richmond, etc on your way down. I did the drive from Philadelphia and it took about 20 hours to get to Orlando. If you aren't planning on doing any sight seeing on your way down...then I would just fly and rent a car at the airport. And remember that FL is REALLY big. If you wanted to go all the way down to the keys, from Boston, that could take like 30 hours driving time.

It could be alot of fun or really stressful depending on you guys.  Keep in mind that you may have to deal with possibly getting lost, bad weather, traffic jams, etc.  On the flipside, you will def be spending time together and seeing the East Coast.

My fiance and I plan to go to Florida in Novemeber, for a few days after our wedding, as a sort of pre-Honeymoon to our trip to Italy in February.  We're staying in Hollywood, FL on at  a beachfront hotel. This way we can unwind, relax, and really enjoy our alone time.

I don't think your idea is weird at all. The whole point is to do what you guys want to do, and what suits YOU as a couple.
