CHEAP honeymoon needed!

Hi knotties!

I have been looking at all inclusive resorts for days now and can't seem to find one I like that is in my price range.  If anyone has suggestions/advice let me know.  We don't want to go on a cruise unless it was a really unique one; for instance, we would love to take a cruise around Scandanavia and get a chance to see the fjords and travel by train etc, but it costs around $1300/pp just in airfare to get there so thats a no-go. We live in ND, but could fly out of Minneapolis easily. We are already on a pretty strict budget for the wedding and so far have done okay, so I would hate to save so much on the wedding but then blow the rest on the honeymoon. Soo...here are my resitrictions--Thanks so much!

Budget: $3000 including airfare--but the cheaper the better :)
Month: June
Length: 7 days

*All inclusive isn't necessary but is definately preferred.

  •  Try Funjet's website. www.funjet.com

They generally have good offers for all-inclusives in Mexico. The deals are usually including flights, so you can get great prices. I have used funjet a few times in the past and always had a good experience. The only thing being that usually the flights are chartered, so they tend to fly at odd hours (e.g. 4am), but the price was so good, it didn't matter.

  • Sometimes you can get better prices by not doing an AI.  If you aren't huge partiers you get better food too.

    Try applevacations

Just surfing around on Yahoo travel I found an all inclusive to cancun from MSP at an adults only resort for $1100 pp incuding airfare.
  • Mexico and the DR tend to have the cheapest AIs and there are tons of them in your price range! We used expedia and travelocity to to research and book our Mexico HM. We stayed at the beautiful Valentin Imperial Maya (AI, Adults only, 4.5*) for a week for 2400 with airfare! It was a killer deal and we had an upgraded room. Since you would be going in June, you could probably find something similar-- we went in July and got a great deal because it is off-season.

  • Mexico- Cancun and Playa Del Carmen are cheap, and June is an inexpensive time to visit. I highly reccomend www.cheapcarribean.com , I have used them twice and have had zero problems.

  • I would definitely recommend Mexico, Dominican Republic or Jamaica, you should easily be able to find something in your price range
  • I've used Bookit.com and gotten great deals. Plus you have the option of paying in installments, like a brick and mortar travel agency.  Mexico will be especially cheap that time of year and flying out of Minneapolis will save you money.

  • ive been watching places like orbitz and find honeymoons way cheaper than 3000, our budget is 1200 and we have a 7 day trip planned. we actually considered a trip to the virgin islands for 2000

  • Have you considered Bermuda? A cruise to Bermuda is the best of both worlds- you normally have 3 full days on the island, and then 3 or 4 sea/partial sea days.
Sweetwater Branch Inn is a beautiful place.  My fiance and I are going there.  Affordable and the surrounging area has fun options for activities.  It is located in Gainesville, Florida
    Hope this helps! :)
  • mexico, DR, Jamaica or a cruise-you can find cruises for very cheap and it will include your food
