Honeymoon decision

Hi all!

So we are currently deciding on our honeymoon location. Our only dillemma is where to go. We have narrowed it down to one of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica, which seem nice or one of the Palace resorts in Mexico.

We want to do a lot of the activities, like excursions and stuff. Mexico and Jamaica both have a lot to offer.

Has anyone been to any? Any reccomendations of if we go to either what excursions to do? Just want to make sure we make a very informed decision, and who better to ask than people who have already done it! Thanks in advance!

The palace resorts in cancun are nice because your all inclusive is valid at al of them instead of just one hotel so you get more variety in food and stuff do through out cancun. As for exursions there are so many options that are great. Xcaret is really fun to do the dolphin swim and explore the park but also any of the mayan ruins are defnitely worh checking out.

I have been to several Palace Resorts, favorite so far is Sun Palace. We love be able to visit the sister resorts for additional dining and activities.  Have you looked into LeBlanc? It is part of the Palace family.  I haven't had a chance to go there yet, but it is suppose to be the best one.

I've been to Sandals Negril and the Sun Palace in Cancun.  I'd definitely pick Mexico hands down.  When we booked Sun Palace they were having a special where they gave us $1500 in resort credits.  We were able to go on excursions for free, have a lobster/steak dinner on the beach for free, get massages for free.  It was awesome.  And we did go to the Palace resort on the Isle de Mujeres one day as a side trip to use their facilities for free.

I was just in Mexico in February (Cabo) and noticed how affordable it was when it came to drinks, food, excursions, and souveneirs.  I have also heard those that have been to Jamaca that you basically stay at the resorts or do excursions (safety issues), where in Cancun you can walk around and it is relatively safe with plenty of things to do.  Same for the Cozumel location.  And Isla Mujeres is such a cute island... might be a quieter and more laid back location but still with shops and restaurants to visit. 

Another thing is to think about what you want to do on your honeymoon and look at the type of excursions at both places.  If you like historical things, do Mexcio for the ruins.  If you like good snorkeling/scuba diving go to Mexico (the Cozumel property probably).  If you like Caribbean food and steel drums, go to Jamacia.  If you like swimming in a waterfall, go to Jamacia.  If you are just going to stay on the resort and swim... it doesn't matter.  Go for price and the ammenities of the resort.  Read reviews on Tripadvisor.com.
