We are thinking of taking a First anniversary/late honeymoon trip to Mexico or maybe even Jamaica, only problem is I never got my name changed on my passport. The thing is I've had it for almost 10 years, it's expiring in July. Do you think I could get away with traveling under my maiden name if that's the only ID I carry? The only reason I ask is because I don't want to renew it if I don't have to cuz I know it will be a while before we travel overseas again, and I'd rather not pay to have it changed only for it to expire in a few months anyway...
Any thoughts on what the best/safest plan would be?
