England Tours

Has anyone used any tour companies in London?  We would like to do one city tour of London and then one of maybe Cotswold and Stonehedge.  Thank you!

Re: England Tours

  • I kind of tour do you want of London?  I live here.  I would suggest either London walks, I have been on about 7 and they are fab!  http://www.walks.com/
Or do a bus tour. http://www.theoriginaltour.com/  Otherwise everything is in English and the tubes are pretty easy to get around.

Feel free to PM me and I'll give you tons of recs and link to discounts etc.

Stonehenge is in the middle of no where, it takes awhile to get there, but only about 45 minutes to walk around it with the audio tour.  I went while a friend was visiting, we also went to Bath the same day.  I would rather have spent the whole day at Bath personally.
  • I kind of made up my own tour based on where we wanted to go and I went to sites that were close to each other on the same day (like St. Paul's and the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Westminister Abbey). Keep in mind the churches have services on Sunday and therefore don't give tours. Actually, many things are closed on Sunday, including restaurants. I really recommend getting an Oyster card. You can put money on it and you just have to swipe it while getting on the tube. We put L30 on each of our cards and it was enough for 6 days.

I DID do a fun day trip in Scotland.
