Beach Wedding Question

I will be getting married on a beach, with the reception in a clubhouse near the beach.  I am wondering what other brides getting married on the beach plan to do about shoes?  I really want to wear heels at the reception, but will have to get my dress altered to barefoot length to walk down the aisle in the sand.  Any thoughts on how to pull off heels too??  Thanks!

Why do you want to wear heals?

    Will anyone actually see them?

  • I'm having a beach wedding as well.  I'm not wearing any shoes for the ceremony and wearing heals at the reception.  I'm having the alterations for my heals.  I'm not too worried about it getting dirty.
  • I'm getting married on the beach too and wearing white flip flops that i decorated to fancy them. I don't want my feet burning in the sand. This will add height on the beach so you're not tripping down the aisle, since your dress will need to be altered to the length of your dancing shoes. Any kind of sandal would work too and still be beachy.
  • What about getting the dress altered for sadals and rockin some colored heels that everyone will see when you are dancing?
  • HI!  I am also getting married on the beach and we are actually making beaded footwear, here is a link below and the possibilities are endless:

I am ALSO wearing heels during the reception as they will be my something blue, I am having them dyed a gorgeous blue!  I think its fun and different.  As far as your alterations, if you really want to wear heels later, then your dress should be altered to accommodate your heels, not your bare feet.  Yes, your gown may be a few inches longer while barefoot, but its not like its going to be a whole foot longer, just a few inches.

    Hope this helps!
