Wedding Theme?

We are getting married outdoors in August 2012. Our venue is a beautiful estate on a creek with trees and a couple of waterfalls on the property. Our colors are black and white, with accents of lime. There are flowers growing on the property so we don't want to clash with the natural beauty. My question is do we need a "theme"? Our decorations will be pretty simple...candle centerpieces, very little ceremony decor, etc. Is it necessary to have a theme or is it ok to just have the decor we like? I don't want the wedding to look thrown together at the last minute.

Themes are not necessary; in fact "wedding" is almost a theme itself.  A color scheme is definitely enough!

This. Color scheme is enough. It sounds like your venue is beautiful and I would just go with keeping it low key and playing off nature.
  • No theme is necessary!  Just decorate it how you want it to look.Laughing
