Outdoor ceremony decor

I'm having my ceremony on a lakeside beach and have been leaning towards hanging flowers or paper lanterns from shepard hooks. However, I started thinking that this would not work with my indoor backup site. The chairs we are using are banquet chairs, so we can't hang anything from them. I'm wondering if anyone has come up with some great ceremony decor ideas that can easily be used indoors if plans change. Thanks!

Re: Outdoor ceremony decor

  • We just used a lot of candles and Moroccan lanterns.  There are pictures in my married bio.

  • We're not really doing anything big and allowing the natural decor take over with some lanterns on the ground itself so they can be used in/out.  But our ceremony will before it gets dark too.  You could look into christmas lights for in/out use.
  • What about the paper bag luminaries? You can buy bags that have already have the cut outs on them and u can buy the flameless candles and use those? If you know someone who is crafty, they could build you a stand to put the shepards hooks in when you get to the indoors place, and then decorate the stands. Our ceremony and reception are all outdoors. And I haven't a clue on how we are going to decorate yet.
