Cruise out of Puerto Rico

Hey everyone, we are going on a cruise (carnival) out of Puerto Rico to St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten.  Does anyone have any recs on activities to do in each of these locations?  We don't book shore excursions through the cruiseline because of the incredibly inflated costs so when we cruise we just hop in a cab and go wherever.  Any recs for these areas would be so helpful!  Thanks!

i took that cruise and liked it. in st maarten i did the americas cup ship sailing-worth every penny and in st lucia did the 18 zip lines-again-worth every penny. in st kitts i took a tour of the island. when you get off the ship there is a booth in the welcome area with people to take you. in st thomas (been there 4 times) took a ferry to st john for the day and in barbados took a cab to one of the beaches/beach bars for the day.

St Thomas had great shopping so we just did our own thing there. Barbados we did swimming with turtles. The excursion included kayaking and then taking a boat to "swim with sea turtles". It was fun but we saw a total of two turtles and they were really far down. The tour guides dove down with our camera and took some closeup pics for us. St. Lucia is the most gorgeous place. We hiked up to the volcano and hot springs. I believe on the way back we drove by cocoa fields and a couple little local spots. The candy they handed out around the volcano hike was so gooooood! St Maarten I believe we took a catamaran to another island for snorkeling. I can't think of the name but it was another French island, nobody lives on it. I remember they had us make mud with the sand and spread it on ourselves, it was supposed to be what spas use. I also remember it was a nude island by another boat docked next to us, it was called the naked boat because everyone was named even the captain lol. Perfect when you're still in high school and with your family lol. No matter what you choose you will have so much fun!!!

We just did that cruise for our HM in April.

I highly recommed the 5 star catamaran and turtle encounter in Barbados. It was our favorite excursion.  We also enjoyed the volcano/ mud bath excursion in St. Lucia and Hike to the Sofa Stone and beach break in St. Kitts.

We did the Royal Caribbean cruise out of San Juan a few years ago and LOVED it! However, our itinerary was a little different than the OP's. We stopped in Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, and St. Thomas.

In St. Thomas, we went on the 1/2 Day Champagne Catamaran Sail to St. John which I highly recommend. Sooo much fun! We took a catamaran over to St. John where we jumped in the water to snorkel, and we could beach comb on Honeymoon Beach. On the way back to St. Thomas, they served bottomless rum punch, champagne, and snacks and it turned into a party with the music, and everyone started dancing. I even got to drive the boat which was fun. We still remember this as one of our favorite cruise excursions.
