Beach weddng colors

I am getting married September of 2010, on the beach in NJ.  I have always known that I wanted red tulips to be my bouquet (they are my favorite!), so I thought it was only natural that the wedding colors be red and white (also, my favorite colors!).  However, my mom is insisting that doing a red, September beach themed wedding would be ridiculous.  Any thoughts!?

    Its your wedding have whatever you want to. There is no color combos for any wedding. So take heed and just plan what you want. She is entitled to her opinion and thats just what it is. You don't have to listen to it or believe it.

    well i think your mom just wants you to have the best wedding ever! i though beach colors were sand, cream, light blue, etc. red would be nice on the beach too like sand and sandy color. enjoy planning your wedding! let us know how it went.

    Moms can be pretty traditional when it comes to colours. My colours were plum and green, and she thought that was a fall colour scheme and would be too dark for summer. I think red will look beautiful. Maybe you could tie in some navy blue and make it a nautical theme? And it's on the darker side so she might feel like it's more fall-appropriate.     Im having a beach wedding and originally thought of going aqua and sand color but then I was like DUHHHH I love purple, I couldnt not have my favorite color for my wedding, so Its now purple and sand color... I couldnt be happier... Do your thing... Mom will be happy no matter what :)
