Early October Wedding...NEED HELP WITH COLORS!

Hi all!! I am having an early October out door wedding next year. The ceremony is in a very wooded area that will have a lot of natural flowers decorating the area. I am struggling with color selection... I do not like fall colors..(as my wedding colors) brown, red, plum ect... Would black with aqua & orange accents look to out of place?? What about light green and champagne? The reception is also out doors on a very large deck that has a white tent around it. I know it is early but I have to nail down colors so I can begin making other choices. If you have any advice or thoughts PLEASE share =]

i bet light green and champagne would be gorgeous- i love that idea.  here's what we are doing- our wedding is this october, outdoors in a real pretty grassy yard with giant oak trees, so we have a very loose color scheme- we are just using colors that will blend in with that, sort of eco-chic is the idea- greens, browns, ivory.  i looked at linens today and i really liked the coppers and terra cottas so i might use those for tablecloths.  we'll have burlap and twine and mossy centerpieces, haybales, that sort of thing, so just as long as it's a color found in nature, i think it will work.  my daughter's dress is "lapis" like a dark purple, and the guys are wearing there own grey suits with all different ties that are either greens or purple.  flowers will be greens, browns, ivory, with a touch of deep purple.  and we will have big heirloom pumpkins laying around here and there- they come in colors from ivory to blue and eggplant and burnt orange, etc.  have you ever visited the stylemepretty.com blog?  they have a lot of good color inspiration.

I think you should choose colours that you love, not what the seasons dictate. I think both of your colour ideas would be beautiful. My main colour was plum for a July wedding. I *defo* love the light green and champagne,  think it will play well with the setting and look very classy! It sounds like you're going to have a simply gorgeous wedding, and don't fret - ours is in almost 2 years and we've already decided upon the color scheme!*m*

I'm getting married the first weekend in October in an outdoor wedding as well. We ended up choosing champagne for the guys vests and ties, a deep red for the bridesmaids dresses and then varying shades of green for the accents (i.e. grenn mums, hydraengas, flowergirl sash, granny smith apples, etc.) It's coming together really nicely although I have to say the green is proving far more versatile and easy to work with than the red.

Thanks to everyone for their advice! I have decided to go with the light green and champagne. My girls will wear champagne and carry various hand tied blooms in light green and white. I found AMAZING pics of green orchids with pink centers submerged in cylinder vases topped with floating candles. So I hoping to capture that same effect for centerpieces. I can not wait to start looking at florist and photographers within the next few months. This is truly an exciting time.
