Dance floor question

My daighter is having an outside wedding on May 1, 2010. She has a spot picked out for the dancing to be, under some trees that will have lights all over them and white paper lanterns hanging from the trees. Should we rent a dance floor or would it be tacky to have our guest dance on the pavement?

As long as the pavement is smooth with no spaces or cracks and even (think of a foundation slab) then it should be fine. If you think that there might be a chance of someone tripping over any imperfections (especially after people start drinking) then you should rent a dance floor. You don't want anyone getting hurt at your daughters wedding.

I think it sounds fine...my one concern would be, would the guests know that is the designated area for the dance?
