Mother of the Bride Dress

Hi...my name is Jennifer and I am getting married next June. It will be an outdoor ceremony at 6:00 p.m. at an antebellum home. My colors are black&white/pink. Any suggestions on colors for MOB dress?? Should she wear a long dress since it is in the evening? Thanks for your help!

A long dress is always good for an evening wedding.  The color doesn't' really matter.  What's most important is that she pick something that she feels comfortable and beautiful in.  She doesn't have to match or coordinate with the bridal party at all.

I agree, she can wear whatever color she wants.  My color scheme was black and pink, and both my mother and MIL wore black.

My mom went through the same thing. Our colors are black & white, so obviously if she wanted to match her only option was black. I explained to her that she didn't have to match the bridal party - that's she's like an extra special guest.  Of course then, she picks this bright turquoise dress with a very low neckline! I almost choked. I explained again and sent her pics of what most MOBs wear so she finally decided on a nice b&w modest dress (long) with a little bolo jacket. I think FMIL is also wearing black.

My mom wore a black dress with a really nice wrap that was a shimmery green/blue color.  Honestly, anything she looks good in and feels good in will work

My colors are light pink and creme, and we're getting married in June outside on a country club golf course.  So, similar colors (and probably feel) to yours. Does your Mother like pink or maybe champagne or peach? Those might be pretty colors against your color scheme. If you're outside and sounds like you'd be down south like me, your Mother might balk at wearing a black dress in that heat.  My Mother wants to wear a pants suit so that's ok with me, but, seeing this thread, just asked her if she thought she might wear a black pants suit.  She looked at me like I was crazy and made a comment about the heat.  So pink, champagne and peach might work well, lighter in color and also not that far away from your colors.
